Waterproof winder for a timepiece. The present invention relates to a waterproof winder for a timepiece, in which the seal is obtained between two elements of the winder by a metal annular seal surrounding the one of said elements, cylindrical.
This winder is characterized by the fact that the cross section of said seal has the shape of a U with. the opening is directed laterally outwards, and one of the branches of which is applied axially against a bearing surface of the second element by a clamping device exerting on the other branch an axial pressure producing, in addition, deformations (see joint such that the middle part of the U bends slightly to rest against the cylindrical element.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial section of the first embodiment, and FIG. 2 is an axial section of the second embodiment.
The winder shown in fig. 1 com takes a crown 1 in a recess 2 of which is. housed a metal seal 3, annular, crossed by the pendant 4, cylindrical. This seal is. of cross-section in shape (the U, whose two branches 3a and 37) are oblique with respect to the axis of the seal, and the opening of which is directed laterally outwards.
The middle part 3c is cylindrical and adjusted on the pendant. 11n nut 5 screwed into the side wall 6 of the safe hollow 2 exerts pressure on the outer edge of the branch 3b of the seal, axially pressing the outer edge of the branch 3a against the bottom 7, forming a bearing, of the recess 2. At the same time, the median part 3c is deformed by bending slightly, following the dotted line 8 of FIG. 1. This bending produces a certain olivage of the central hole of the seal which is thus pressed against the pendant 4 and encloses the latter in a sealed manner.
In the embodiment of FIG. 2, the branch 9a of the seal 9 ends with a cylindrical part 9d resting on the bottom of the recess 2. When the seal is not tight, a slight gap 10 remains between the side wall 6 of the recess and this by tie 9d of the joint. But when the nut 5 exerts an axial pressure on the branch 9b of the joint, not only the middle part 9c is bent, so as to be applied against the pendant 4, but also the part 9cl moves slightly outwards. , applied to the wall 6, which increases the seal.
It should be noted that, in the embodiment of FIG. 2, the branches 9a and 9b of the seal are symmetrical with respect to the plane 11 perpendicular to the axis of the pendant and passing through the center of the part 9c, tan say that, in the embodiment of FIG. 1, branch 3a is much more inclined than branch 3b, which is almost flat; these two branches are therefore asymmetric with respect to said axis, branch 3b forming with this axis a much more closed angle than the other branch.
