Burner for liquid fuel. The invention relates to a liquid fuel burner for use in heating upside-down glowing sleeves.
This burner has a heat conducting plate comprising on its lower face a vaporizer tube which is filled with wire mesh and which contains the control rod of a device for controlling the arrival of fuel, combined with a needle, this rod being arranged axially in the vaporizer tube and its movement being controlled by a screw thread,
the heat-conducting plate carrying on its upper face a nozzle arranged above the vaporizer tube and opening directly into the lower part of a vertical arm of an injector tube having substantially the shape of an inverted U and of which the other arm is fixed by its end to the upper face of the conductive plate by the burner nozzle which is screwed from the lower side of this plate into the threaded end of the aforementioned arm, this bee being provided with a flange coming to bear against the underside of the conductive plate and the latter being provided with a cylindrical projection having bayonet grooves intended to receive the projections of a support ring cd'un inverted chon.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 and 2 are respectively an elevation and a vertical section of the first form; Fig. 3 is a vertical section of the second form.
A is a heat-conducting plate, to the underside of which is fixed a vaporizer tube B receiving a tubular filling of wire mesh C. Inside this filling is the rod D, of a control device E ' arrival of the fuel combined with a needle E which coo father with the conical orifice of a nozzle. r; screwed into a protrusion of the upper face of plate A.
In the form shown in fig. 1 and 2, the. lower part of the rod D is threaded in G so as to be able to be screwed on a corresponding screw thread provided inside a stuffing box H through which the rod D extends outside. At its free end, the rod D carries a control lever J. The lower end of the tube B is provided with a bracket Ki having a threaded tubular part L allowing it to be screwed, for example, into the orifice of the receptacle of fuel. The hole inside the tube B communicates with the fuel container through a passage M1 made in the console Ki.
Part L could have a tu bular extension or could pass into the mouth of a tube extending towards the bottom of the fuel container, at the top of which air pressure is maintained in the known manner. .
On the upper face of the conductive plate A is mounted an inverted U-shaped injector tube. Part N of this injector tube has the shape of a globe and has 0 air intake openings. This go lobe adapts to the foot of the nozzle F and communicates, by a vertical tube N1 with the 'to the third arm P of the inverted U-tube. The lower end of the arm P rests on the plate A, to which it is firmly fixed by means of the burner nozzle Q, the upper end of which is screwed into the lower part of the arm P and which has a flange Q1 coming to rest under the plate A. The lower end of the burner Q is partially closed by a member B, for example, by a perforated nickel plate or by a metal mesh.
The plate A also has a cylindrical extension 8 projecting downwards, in which bayonet notches S1 are formed intended to receive the bayonets of the support ring. a glowing sleeve. The upper part of the injector is provided with a protruding pin out T intended to receive a screen or a reflector.
Part N could have several air intake openings.
In the form shown fi-. 3, the valve stem D is provided, at its upper end, with a threaded head 1 which is screwed into a corresponding threaded part formed in the plate A. In this head 1, one or more long slots are formed. tudinals 2 for the passage of the fuel vapor to the nozzle F. In this form the admission of air into the injection tube is made through a lateral opening 4 of a part 3. A nut 5 forming a bowl is screwed under the sleeve around part I: of the console K to receive the light hydrocarbon used for lighting the burner.
In both embodiments, the rod D could be shaped at its upper part so as to cooperate with a valve seat formed in the upper part of the tube B, with a view to adjusting the fuel inlet.
