Abstract
Procédé de formation d'un centreur, dans lequel une plaque plane est transformée en un tube, la plaque plane étant habituellement roulée de façon que deux côtés de la plaque entrent en contact l'un avec l'autre puis soient liés, habituellement par soudage. Des ouvertures sont ensuite créées dans le tube, de façon qu'il n'y ait aucun coin ou d'autres points pouvant provoquer des fissurations sous contrainte. Une fois que les ouvertures sont créées, le matériau restant entre les ouvertures contiguës forme des nervures. Les ouvertures créées dans le tube sont généralement alignées avec le grand axe du tube. Le matériau, à l'extrémité supérieure et à l'extrémité inférieure de la plaque plane, là où aucune ouverture n'est créée, sert de collier périphérique. Les nervures peuvent se dilater radialement vers l'extérieur, pour réaliser un écartement approprié. Dans de nombreux cas, les nervures peuvent aussi être trempées par traitement thermique ou par d'autres procédés de trempe.
