Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte à un ensemble chambre de combustion destiné à un moteur diesel et comprenant une chambre de combustion (14) définie dans la couronne (12) d'un piston (10), ledit piston (10) présentant un axe central (16, 18, 518, 524). Cette chambre de combustion (14) possède une partie centrale qui définit un montant et qui est elle-même définie au moins en partie par une portion de sphère, ladite sphère ayant un rayon dont l'origine se trouve sur l'axe central du piston (16, 18, 518, 524). Cette chambre de combustion (14) possède par ailleurs une pluralité de surfaces incurvées ayant des transitions tangentielles douces entre des surfaces lisses adjacentes, lesdites surfaces lisses incluant la partie centrale sphérique et au moins une surface annulaire, ladite chambre de combustion (14) étant symétrique par rapport à un axe longitudinal de chambre de combustion (16, 216, 316, 416). La présente invention se rapporte également à un piston (10) contenant la chambre de combustion ci-dessus décrite (14) ainsi qu'à un procédé de formation de ladite chambre de combustion (14).
