Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de contrôler un processus de fonte de bande d'acier en continu sur la base de critères spécifiés par le client. Ce procédé comprend un ordinateur universel dans lequel sont introduites les spécifications du produit d'acier commandé par le client. L'ordinateur est conçu pour mettre automatiquement en correspondance les spécifications de produit avec des paramètres de traitement ou avec des valeurs de réglage afin de commander le processus de fonte de bande d'acier en continu de manière à fabriquer le produit commandé par le client. Dans un mode de réalisation, l'ordinateur élabore un rapport de changement de processus détaillant les paramètres de traitement et les valeurs de réglage pour l'opérateur en mettent physiquement en application lesdits paramètres de traitement et valeurs de réglage dans le processus de fonte de bande. Dans une variante, l'ordinateur peut transmettre lesdits paramètres de traitement et valeurs de réglage directement au processus de fonte de bande afin de commander automatiquement ledit processus, en fabriquant le produit d'acier commandé par le client. Par rapport à des processus classiques de fabrication d'acier, le processus selon l'invention permet de réduire sensiblement le temps séparant une demande du client concernant un produit d'acier de la remise dudit produit.
