Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'une boue d'hydroxyde de magnésium stabilisée consistant à procéder au broyage humide d'une boue d'hydroxyde de magnésium de départ. L'invention concerne également une boue d'hydroxyde de magnésium stabilisée produite selon le procédé ainsi que des produits à base de magnésie produits à partir de la boue d'hydroxyde de magnésium broyée humide. La boue d'hydroxyde de magnésium lavée est soit (a) acheminée directement vers un broyeur humide (1) à un un débit régulé pour la réduction de la grosseur de particules, soit (b) introduite dans un filtre (2) à disque afin d'augmenter le pourcentage de solides à plus d'environ 60 %. Si le filtre (2) à disque est utilisé, la décharge est dirigée vers un broyeur (3) à hélice. Le flux est recyclé dans le broyeur (3) à hélice par l'intermédiaire d'un mélangeur (4) à cisaillement élevé. La matière déchargée du broyeur à hélice est collectée dans un réservoir de purge (5). Une pompe (6) est utilisée pour retirer la boue du réservoir d'équilibrage (5) et pour alimenter le broyeur humide (1) à un débit régulé, lequel débit dicte le temps de séjour dans le broyeur humide (1). Ce débit peut être modifié afin de réguler la réduction de la grosseur des particules. La boue broyée est collectée dans un réservoir de stockage (7).
