Abstract
A sealing strip for doors and windows made up of two plastic blades forming a V-shaped profile. A third blade is attached to the joint of the first two blades. The blades are covered, on their face intended to be glued to the wing or the standing frame, with a layer of glue. The adhesive layer is itself covered with a flexible removable layer. A groove made inside the joint of the first two blades thins the material there and gives the necessary flexibility. Similarly, a groove makes it possible to fold the third blade in case the leaf is not wide enough to glue the entire strip flat. The configuration of this sealing strip makes it possible to avoid detachment due to the repeated traction forces which are exerted when the door or window is closed and opened. The strip is also easy to install and durable.
Description
'` The present invention relates to a strip sealing for doors and windows.
There are many sealing devices for porks and windows using one or more blades flexible, whether or not lined with compressible material and elastic, such as synthetic foam. Of such caulking strips are ~ in their execution the more practical, self-adhesive. However, they tend to partially peel off, and to lift, or even to tear yourself away, under the effect of repeated pulls that provo-quent the opening and closing of the leaf. These bands also have the disadvantage of being either too expensive or fragile ~ or wear out too quickly due to stiffness too great.
The present invention aims to remedy these defects ~
in particular by limiting the risk of lifting and detachment.
According to the present invention, it is pxe ~ u a band sealing for doors and windows, comprising: at least a first blade fixed by an edge to a second blade, for ~
thus mant a joint and making with this second blade an acute angle, a third blade fixed by an edge to the joining of the other two, a groove provided inside the joint between the first and second blade ~ this groove reducing the thickness of the strip, a groove provided in the joint between the first two blades and the third blade, this groove also reducing the thickness of the strip, a rounded bead provided at the free edge of said first blade, a rim provided at the free edge of said second blade and points to the free edge of the first blade, the first blade being shorter than the second blade, so that, when the strip is completely crushed, said edge overflows said first flexible blade, the second and the third sieme blades being intended to be plated and fixed against the door leaf or window or door frame, 3 ~
the free edge of the flexible blade coming to rest and being held by elasticity against the sleeping frame if the sealing strip is fixed to the leaf, or ~ have the bat-as long as the strip is attached to the frame, when door or window closing.
A preferential embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of nonlimiting example in referring to the attached drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 shows in cross section a sealing strip at rest according to the invention, Fig. 2 represents, also in cross section versale, a sealing strip fixed on a door leaf or of ~ being, and in a position of maximum compression, Fig. 3 shows a sealing strip / in the same form of execution as that of fig. 2 but in the-which third blade is folded due to the thinness of the leaf on which the strip is fixed.
~ A band notably includes a flexible blade 1, secured by one of its edges to a second blade 2. The second blade is able to be fixed, and preferably glued, on the frame or on the leaves of the door or window. The flexible blade moves away from the edge of the leaf or the frame on which is fixed the second blade and its free edge 7, opposite the joint 4 connecting the two blades, comes to puyer, when closing the door or window, against the standing frame or against the leaf, depending on whether the flexible blade is attached to this or that. A third blade 3 is attached to junction 4 of the other two, extending the tip V formed by the first two blades. This third blade greatly increases the area through which the strip adhere to the wing or the sleeping frame. The tip of V is thus securely fi ~ ee and the risk of uprooting decreases in a great measure.
As shown in the figures, band 1 self-~ 3 ~
adhesive is provided with a layer of adhesive 8 which is protected, before use, by a flexible removable strip 9.
The groove 10 thins the strip at the joint 4 of the two blades and thus allows easy flexing of the blade flexible 1 ~
Similarly, the groove 11 ensures easy folding of the third blade, if necessary, for example when the thickness of the leaf does not allow the strip to be laid flat, as in fig. 3.
The rounded bead 12 has two functions: all first, it stiffens the flexible blade, this ~ ui prevents it from curl, then the rounding allows the edge 7 of the blade to slide easily on the unevenness of the surface with which he is in contact.
The rim 13 with which the second blade is provided has mainly to protect edge 7 of the second blade when it is folded, as the repr ~ -feel fig. 2. It also has the advantage of stiffening the second blade and to avoid curling which is harmful to the cacite of collage.
Low density polyethylene is probably the material best suited to the manufacture of such a strip sealing. It allows easy and inexpensive manufacturing.
It has the necessary strength and flexibility. However less, it should be protected from ultra-purple by a charge of color.
The three blades forming the body of the strip can be made in one piece, by extrusion through an appropriately shaped die.
