Abstract
VELA DE IGNIçãO PARA UM MOTOR DE COMBUSTãO INTERNA INFLAMADO POR CENTELHA. Uma vela de ignição (10) para um motor de combustão interna inflamado por centelha inclui uma gaxeta de vedação supressora (54) interposta entre um perno terminal superior (46) e um eletrodo central inferior (60). A gaxeta de vedação supressora (54) inclui uma camada de topo de vidro condutor (52) que circunda a extremidade de fundo (50) do perno terminal (46) e uma camada de vedação de vidro inferior (58) que circunda uma cabeça (62) do eletrodo central (60). Uma camada resistora (56) preenche o espaço entre as camadas de vidro condutor (52, 58). A camada resistora (56) tem uma primeira área de seção transversal maior (76) em sua extremidade superior e uma segunda área de seção transversal menor (78) em sua extremidade inferior. Um afunilamento de redução (80) estabelece uma transição progressiva entre as áreas de seção transversal maior e menor (76, 78).
