Em certas modalidades, o polímero dendrítico ou arborol se auto-monta para formar uma matriz que tem poros ou cavidades aquosas para conter e permitir transporte de agentes ativos ou íons. Em aspectos particulares, o dispositivo é um dispositivo iontoforético.
