Abstract
CARBONETOS METáLICOS E PROCESSO DE PRODUçãO DOS MESMOS. A presente invenção refere-se a uma composição de carboneto metálico e a um processo para síntese de carbonetos metálicos, através de um processo de uma única etapa, onde óxidos de diferentes metais, inclusive, mas não limitado a, Si, Ti, W, Hf, Zr, V, Cr, Ta, B, Nb, AI, Mn, Ni, Fe, Co, e Mo foram misturados fisicamente com nanoestruturas de carbono esféricas ou filamentosas, e aquecidos indutivamente até uma certa faixa de temperaturas (900-1900<198>C) onde o óxido metálico reage com carbono para formar diferentes carbonetos metálicos, O processo retém a morfologia original do precursor de carbono inicial nos carbonetos metálicos resultantes. Esse método também produz nanocarbonetos metálicos altamente cristalinos. Os produtos carbonetos metálicos teriam aplicações em dispositivos termelétricos de alta temperatura, poços de quantum, dispositivos optoeletrónicos, semicondutores, blindagem de corpos, blindagem de veículos, catalisadores, e como agentes de reforço descontínuos em metais tais como alumínio e outras ligas.
