Abstract

"SUPRESSãO DE PATóGENOS E PESTES DE PLANTAS COM AUXINAS APLICADAS OU INDUZIDAS". A presente invenção é direcionada aos métodos para inibir o desenvolvimento de organismos de doença, particularmente fungos e bactérias, sobre os tecidos da planta. A presente invenção é também direcionada aos métodos para a inibição da infestação de plantas por insetos e larvas, particularmente insetos sugadores e mastigadores. Estes métodos são obtidos mediante a aplicação de uma auxina ou um regulador do crescimento da planta (PGR) que afetará o nível de auxina no tecido da planta nas sementes ou tubérculos da planta antes da plantação ou nas raízes, folhagem, flores ou fruto da planta após a plantação. A auxina ou PGR é aplicada em uma quantidade eficaz para inibir o desenvolvimento dos organismos ou insetos de doença, mas em uma quantidade insuficiente para negativamente afetar o crescimento dos tecidos da planta. A auxina pode ser aplicada como uma auxina natural, auxina sintética, metabólito de auxina, precursor de auxina, derivado de auxina ou uma mistura destes. A auxina no momento preferida é ácido indol-3-acético (IAA). A auxina ou PGR pode ser aplicada nas sementes, tubérculos ou tecidos de planta. As sementes ou tubérculos podem ser pulverizadas com uma solução aquosa ou imersas nela contendo a auxina ou PGR. Sistemas de pulverização e irrigação por gotejamento convencionais podem ser usados para aplicar uma solução aquosa contendo uma auxina ou PGR nos tecidos da planta. A auxina ou PGR pode também ser aplicada nos tecidos de planta como um pó ou pode ser encapsulada dentro de um material biologicamente compatível para fornecer liberação lenta nas raízes da planta. Os tecidos de planta podem ser polvilhados com um pó, incluindo a auxina ou PGR. A auxina encapsulada pode ser colocada na zona da raiz para absorção da auxina ou PGR pelas raízes.
