Abstract
"REATOR E PROCESSO PARA A OXIDAçãO DE UM PRECURSOR". Trata-se de um reator para a oxidação de um precursor para um ácido carboxílico aromático ou um éster do mesmo em uma mistura de reação de fase líquida. O reator (1) compreende um vaso alongado, substancialmente vertical em uso, o qual tem um elemento misturador superior (5) e um elemento misturador inferior (3), caracterizado polo fato de que o elemento misturador superior (5) é um impulsor de bombeamento axial e o elemento misturador inferior (3) é um impulsor de bombeamento radial. Também é apresentado um processo para a produção de um ácido carboxílico ou um éster do mesmo em um reator da invenção. Em uso, a configuração dos elementos misturadores leva a três zonas de mistura altamente turbulentas. Em uma realização preferida do processo da presente invenção, o oxidante, de uma entrada, e o solvente, o precursor e o catalisador, são introduzidos diretamente em uma zona de mistura. As zonas de mistura altamente turbulentas levam a uma transferência de massa rápida que suprime a formação de subprodutos coloridos indesejados e uma sujeira reduzida do reator.
