Abstract
Patente de Invenção: MODULADOR E DEMODULADOR DE QUADRATURA. Um modulador (210) e demodulador (310) de quadratura que propiciam o nível necessário de desempenho, concomitantemente minimizando o consumo de energia. No modulador de quadratura (210), os sinais I e Q são providos a dois pares de misturadores. Cada misturador em um par de misturadores modula um sinal I ou Q com a respectiva senoíde IF em fase ou em quadratura. Os sinais I e Q modulados provenientes de cada par de misturadores são somados. Os sinais provenientes dos somadores são providos a um terceiro par de misturadores e modulados com as respectivas senóides de RF em fase e em quadratura. Os sinais provenientes do terceiro par de misturadores são somados e providos na forma do sinal modulado. Pelo uso de tal topologia de modulador de quadratura (210) o equilíbrio de amplitude e erro de fase do sinal modulado são tornados insensíveis ao desequilibrio de amplitude e/ou erro de fase dos divisores de quadratura usados para gerar as senóides de IF e RF. Além disso, uma vez que os primeiros dois pares de misturadores e os dois somadores subsequentes são operados no freq³ência IF, as exigências de desempenho (por exemplo, amplitude de banda e linearidade) de tais componentes podem ser asseguradas, utilizando-se concomitantemente menos energia. O conceito da invenção pode ser adicionalmente adotado para uso em um demodulador de quadratura (310).
