Abstract
Patente de Invenção: <B>"COPOLìMEROS ENXERTADOS COMO CARREADORES DE GENES"<D>. Um carreador polimérico de gene não tóxico utilizado para distribuir um ácido nucléico em uma célula hospedeira compreende um copolímero de enxerto que possui polímeros laterais anfifílicos de cadeia reta enxertados a um polímero policatiónico principal. O polímero policatiónico principal forma um complexo com os ácidos nucléicos por interação eletrostática. Os polímeros laterais anfifílicos reduzem a toxicidade do policátion e aumentam a solubilidade. A proporção molar dos polímeros laterais pode ser ajustada para otimizar a eficiência de transfecção. Da mesma maneira, a proporção de ácido nucléico para o copolímero pode ser ajustada par otimizar a eficiência. A composição pode ser utilizada em um processo para transformar uma célula hospedeira com um ácido nucléico selecionado. Os copolímeros enxertados de polietileno glicol e de poli-L-lisina ( PEG-g-PLL ) são particularmente eficientes, alcançando o pico de expressão gênica dentro de 24 horas e persistindo durante pelo menos 96 horas.
