Abstract

"DISPOSITIVO INDICADOR DE CRISTAL LìQUIDO". Descreve-se um indicador de cristal líquido que compreende um polarizador absorvente disposto sobre o lado visível de uma célula de cristal líquido e um polarizador refletivo disposto sobre o lado oposto. A célula de cristal líquido comporta um cristal líquido entre dois substratos transparentes, cada um possuindo um eletrodo sobre a sua superfície interna.O polarizador absorvente é uma lâmina polarizadora que absorve uma luz linearmente polarizada que tem um plano de vibração perpendicular ao eixo geométrico de fácil transmissão, enquanto que o polarizador refletivo é uma lâmina polarizadora que reflete a luz linearmente polarizada. Um refletor ou um filtro de cores está, de preferência, disposto sob o polarizador refletivo, e uma camada difusora de luz ou uma placa difusora de luz está, de preferência, disposta sobre o lado visível do polarizador absorvente.
