Abstract

Patente de Invenção: "EXPRESSãO DE FRUTOSE 1,6 BIFOSFATO ALDOLASE EM PLANTAS TRANSGêNICAS". A frutose-1,6-bisfosfato aldolase (fda) é uma enzima que catalisa inversamente a reação de conversão de triosefosfato em frutose-1,6-bisfosfato. Na folha, esta enzima encontra-se localizada no cloroplasto (síntese de amido) e no citosol (biossíntese de sacarose). Foram geradas plantas transgênicas que expressam o gene E.coli fda no cloroplasto para aperfeiçoar o rendimento da planta, especificamente aumentando a capacidade biossintética do amido da folha e a produção de sacarose em geral. As folhas de plantas que expressam o transgene fda mostraram um acúmulo de amido significativamente maior, quando comparadas às plantas de controle expressando um vetor nulo, especificamente de forma precoce no fotoperíodo, porém possuíam sacarose inferior na folha. As plantas transgênicas também possuíam uma massa de raiz significativamente maior. Adicionalmente, as batatas transgênicas expressando fda exibiram uniformidade de sólidos aperfeiçoada.
