Abstract
Patente de Invenção para: <B>ESPUMA TERMOPLáSTICA E PROCESSO PARA A PRODUçãO DA MESMA USANDO DIóXIDO DE CARBONO"<D>. A presente invenção fornece um processo para a produção de espuma termoplástica, que inclui: (a) fusão de um polímero termoplástico para produzir uma massa fundida de polímero; (b) introdução de um agente insuflante de dióxido de carbono na massa fundida de polímero; (c) adição à massa fundida de polímero de um ou mais aditivos selecionados do grupo que consiste de: (1) polissiloxano, e (2) óleo mineral; e (d) extrusão e espumação fundida de polímero, agente insuflante e um ou mais aditivos para produzir espuma termoplástica. A espuma termoplástica resultante pode ser transformada em vários artigos espumados, tais como bandejas de espuma para embalagem. Foi descoberto que a qualidade das espumas obtidas a partir de um agente insuflante de dióxido de carbono e particularmente de 100% de dióxido de carbono é substancialmente melhorada por adição de um ou mais dos aditivos anteriores, isto é, polissiloxano, óleo mineral e, opcionalmente poliolefina à massa fundida de polímero durante a extrusáo e o processo de espumação. Tais espumas têm muito menos células rompidas, rachaduras na superfície e corrugação do que as espumas comparáveis obtidas com um agente insuflante de dióxido de carbono porém em que faltam os aditivos da presente invenção.
