Abstract
A presente invenção provê um material refratário que não é impregnado com piche ou semelhante, e tem maior resistência à corrosão e resistência ao choque térmico em comparação com um produto impregnado, tal como um piche. submetido a piche ou tratamento de impregnação semelhante. Um material refratário que não é impregnado com alcatrão ou piche, de acordo com a presente invenção, é distinguido por, como valores das propriedades físicas de uma amostra de material refratário, que é tratada termicamente em uma atmosfera não oxidante a 1200°C, uma porosidade aparente é de no máximo 7%; um volume total de poro de poros tendo um diâmetro de poro de no máximo 1 µm de pelo menos 80% em relação ao volume integrado de poro de toda a amostra de material refratário, e uma permeabilidade de 50 × 10-17 m2.
