a presente invenção aborda o problema de obter leveduras fermentativas que exibem eficiência de produção de etanol alta, sem introduzir um gene exógeno. a presente invenção aborda adicionalmente o problema de obter leveduras fermentativas resistentes a inibidores de crescimento tais como ácidos orgânicos que impedem o crescimento de leveduras fermentativas. a presente invenção produz leveduras que exibem produtividade de etanol aprimorada, introduzindo-se genes de transaldolase e álcool desidrogenase, por autoclonagem, para meyerozyma guilliermondii, que é capaz de produzir efetivamente etanol a partir de pentose e hexose por reprodução. adicionalmente, essa cepa de leveduras foi depositada no depositário de micro-organismos para fins de processamento de patente nite sob o número de acesso nite abp-01976.
