Abstract

PROCESSO PARA PREPARAÇÃO DE HIDRÓXIDO DE COLINA A PARTIR DE TRIMETILAMINA E ÓXIDO DE ETILENO. A presente invenção refere-se a processos para preparação de N,N,N-hidróxido de trimetiletanolamônia (hidróxido de colina) e o hidróxido de colina produzido são descritos. Estes processos minimizam a produção de subproduto de colina monoetoxilatada e dietoxilatada no produto de hidróxido de colina. Os processos geralmente incluem alimentar óxido de etileno, trimetilamina, e água, em um primeiro reator, para criar um primeiro produto de reator sob condições de temperatura controlada. O produto do primeiro reator é alimentado em um segundo reator, para formar um segundo produto de reator sob condições adiabáticas não controladas. Finalmente, qualquer trimetilamina não reagida no segundo produto de reator é removida para formar um produto final compreendendo hidróxido de colina. Reatores adicionais podem ser usados para a reação de óxido de etileno e trimetilamina.
