Abstract
método para diagnostificar o estado de doença de lyme em um mamífero, e, composição. é fornecido um método para diagnosticar o estado de doença de lyme em um mamífero. o método envolve determinar, em uma amostra biológica obtida ou derivada de um mamíffero, anticorpos para proteínas de superfície externa (outer surface proteins, osp) ospa, ospc, e ospf de borrelia burgdorferi (b.burgdorferi). baseado na determinação dos anticorpos para ospa, ospc e ospf, o mamífero pode ser diagnosticado como vacinado, não-vacinado, infectado ou não infectado com b. burgdorferi. também podem ser identificados mamíferos que têm infecção por b. burgdorferi incial, intermeduiária ou crônica. o método é especialmente adequado para uso com cavalos e cães. antígenos de b. burgdorferi recombinantes ou isolados e composições que os contêm também são fornecidos.
