Abstract
"ESTABILIZAçAO DE MATERIAIS POLIMéRICOS CONTENDO POLI(OXIALQUILENO)". A presente invenção provê um processo para produção de um dispositivo médico, preferivelmente um dispositivo oftálmico, mais preferivelmente uma lente de contato, fabricada de um material polimérico contendo poli(oxialquileno) estabilidado. O processo da invenção compreende as etapas de: cura, em um molde, de uma composição compreendendo (a) um pré-polímero tendo pelo menos uma unidade poli(oxialquileno), (b) um multi-ácido orgânico biocompatível ou seu sal biocompatível em uma quantidade suficiente para aperfeiçoar a estabilidade do polímero contendo poli(oxialquileno) fabricado a partir da composição, (c) opcionalmente um fotoiniciador ou um iniciador térmico, e (d) opcionalmente um ou mais monómeros vinílicos, para formar o dispositivo médico sendo menos suscetível a degradação; e removendo o dispositivo médico do molde.
