Abstract
"MéTODOS E APARELHOS PARA OPERAçãO DE MOTORES DE COMBUSTìVEIS MúLTIPLOS". Métodos e aparelhos são mostrados para a operação de um motor de combustíveis múltiplos, o qual funciona em uma combinação de dois ou mais combustíveis. Uma unidade de controle eletrónica (ECU) pode ser conectada aos componentes existentes de um sistema do motor de modo a se controlar a operação dos motores de combustíveis múltiplos. O sistema do motor pode ser mecanicamente governado ou eletronicamente controlado. A ECU introduz características de operação do sistema do motor, determina as características de governo para uma operação de combustível múltiplo com base nas características de operação, e controla as quantidades de combustível enviadas para o motor, com base nas características de governo. Em uma modalidade preferida, um motor de dois combustíveis opera usando diesel como um primeiro combustível e gás natural como um segundo combustível. As características de operação podem incluir velocidade do motor, posição de estrangulamento, temperatura de escapamento do motor, pressão de gás do segundo combustível, temperatura de gás do segundo combustível, pressão de intensificação de um coletor de admissão ou temperatura do arrefecedor do motor.
