"REATOR DE FLUXO, E, PROCESSO ENVOLVENDO CONVERSõES QUìMICAS EXOTéRMICAS DE COMPOSTOS ORGâNICOS A PRODUTOS DE VALOR AGREGADO COM USO DE UM CATALISADOR HETEROGêNEO SELETIVO". é divulgado um aparelho para uso em sistemas de processo que incluem conversões químicas exotérmicas de compostos orgânicos a produtos de valor agregado, mais particularmente, reatores de fluxo para conversões químicas exotérmicas que usam um catalisador heterogêneo com meios para controle da isoterma. Reatores de fluxo da invenção compreendem uma pluralidade de condutos de parede (3), cada qual possuindo uma superfície externa disposta para contato com um meio de transferência de calor, um coletor de distribuição de entrada (2) adaptado para comunicação fluida com um coletor à jusante (4) através de canais formados por material catalítico heterogêneo disposto no interior de cada conduto durante a operação em uma seq³ência de zonas de catalisação que têm comprimento igual ou diferente ao longo da coordenada longitudinal do conduto e no interior de cada zona de seção transversal essencialmente uniforme do conduto medida em um plano perpendicular à coordenada longitudinal, definindo assim o volume da zona, e a seq³ência de zonas compreendendo pelo menos duas zonas (5, 6, 7, 8), de maneira tal que cada zona à jusante tenha uma seção transversal maior ou menor do que a zona à montante contígua. Um outro aspecto da invenção inclui processos que usam tais reatores de fluxo, por exemplo, para a fabricação contínua de anidrido maleico.
