Abstract

"PROCESSO DE POLIMERIZAçãO DE MONO E DISSACARìDEOS COM áCIDOS MONOCARBOXìLICOS E LACTONAS, E PRODUTOS PREPARADOS A PARTIR DELE". A presente invenção é dirigida a um processo para a preparação de um polimero de carboidrato que consiste na polimerização de um açúcar a uma temperatura abaixo do ponto de decomposição substancial dele e sob pressão reduzida na presença de uma quantidade catalítica efetiva de um ácido orgânico selecionado do grupo que consiste em um ácido monocarboxílico, uma lactona de um ácido monocarboxílico e em um arilol, removendo-se ao mesmo tempo a água formada durante a polimerização, sendo o ácido orgânico não volátil e tendo somente um grupamento funcional ácido e não tendo nele nenhum grupamento amino. Ela é também dirigida ao produto produzido a partir dele.
