Abstract

"SAPATA DE FREIO E SISTEMA DE FREIO DE TAMBOR INCORPORANDO A MESMA". Uma sapata de freio (10) para um sistema de freios de tambor (40 ) é disposto com uma lona de freio (12) apresentando uma superfície de atrito (14) que se volta para a superfície de freio (60) de um tambor de freio (38) . A lona (12) se caracteriza pela disposição de uma ou mais ranhuras (16), estendendo-se pela superfície de atrito (14). A sapata (10) pode ser incorporada num sistema de freio de tambor resfriado (10), no qual o resfriamento é disposto por orifícios de ventilação no tambor (38). O resfriamento pode ser ainda realçado pela disposição de orifícios de ventilação (66) numa placa posterior (46) do sistema (40). Num sistema alternativo, o resfriamento é disposto por meio da vedação do tambor (38) a fim de formar um espaço para reter certo volume de óleo.
