Abstract
"PRESERVAçãO CRIOGêNICA DE MATERIAL BIOLOGICAMENTE ATIVO USANDO CONGELAMENTO DE ALTA TEMPERATURA". A presente invenção refere-se a um material biológico viável que é criogenicamente preservado (criopreservação) ao quimicamente preparar o material para congelamento, imergir o material em um tanque de fluido de resfriamento, e circular o fluido de resfriamento adiante do material a uma velocidade e temperatura predeterminadas substancialmente constante para congelar o material. Um método de acordo com a presente invenção congela o material biológico suficientemente rápido para evitar a formação de cristais de gelo no interior das estruturas celulares (vitrificação) . A temperatura do fluido de resfriamento é de forma preferida entre -20<198>C e -30<198>C, que é suficientemente morno para minimizar a formação de fraturas de tensão nas membranas celulares em virtude de mudanças térmicas. As células congeladas ao se usar o método de acordo com a presente invenção mostrou ser dotado de um coeficiente de sobrevivência de 80 por cento, o que é significativamente maior do que os outros métodos de criopreservação.
