Abstract

"COMPOSIçãO DE ALIMENTO DE ANIMAL DOMéSTICO E MéTODO DE FABRICAçãO". é provido um alimento de animal doméstico, compreendendo um corpo rico em proteínas, formulado, comestível, tendo uma aparência tostada, um teor de umidade de 20% a 60% em peso e uma estrutura provendo firmeza de textura, de modo a ser resiliente sob pressão inicial de mordida de um animal doméstico e altamente palatável. Teor de proteína é, preferivelmente, pelo menos 20% em peso. A aparência tostada é produzida por exposição a uma fonte de calor seco, tal como em tostamento, grelha, fritura e cozimento e aperfeiçoa palatabilidade. Palatabilidade pode ser ainda aperfeiçoada através de redução de pH do corpo de alimento, por exemplo, por aplicação de um revestimento ácido e permitindo o ácido reagir com açúcares no corpo em uma reação térmica de amorenamento.
