<EMI ID=1.1>
! respectivement solidarisés de la face extérieure 4 et de la face intérieure 11 de la paroi 5 par des moyens de fixation à vis prenant appui sur leurs ailes 3 et 10; ils sont solidarisés l'un 1 1 de l'autre par leurs ailes 6 et 12 entre lesquelles et au contact j desquelles est disposé un tampon 13 d'une matière susceptible de subir une transformation endothermique lorsqu'elle est soumise à une température élevée, ce tampon 13 étant également traversé par des moyens de solidarisation de l'aile 6 à l'aile 12.
<EMI ID=2.1>
124.
Enfin, cet encadrement est complété par un profilé en L ;
<EMI ID=3.1>

The present invention relates to a metal frame for a door, and more precisely a metal frame combining the desired qualities of resistance to burglary and! fire resistance.
In fact, the placement of a burglary-resistant door only really makes sense if the frame in which the door is fitted also has high burglary-resistance characteristics, failing which the obstacle constituted by the door will be easily bypassed by exploiting the weakness of the frame.
One of the most suitable means of obtaining a frame having the desired resistance is to achieve this frame using metallic materials, suitably arranged.
However, fire safety standards also currently require, in multi-apartment buildings, that landing doors have the required fire-fighting qualities, and in particular that they do not have any element likely to constitute a thermal bridge between both sides of the door. This last requirement therefore excludes the use of metal frames for doors made in a conventional manner.
The present invention aims to provide a solution to this problem by providing for the production of a metal frame which has high qualities of resistance to burglary and which also meets the requirements of fire safety. This object is achieved by providing for the production of a metal frame for a door which consists of at least two sections, each formed of at least two wings, these sections being arranged, by one of their wings, respectively on the side and on the side. other of the wall in which the door opening is formed, the other of their wings penetrating into the door opening, the wings entering the door opening overlapping and being assembled to each other with interposition of a material liable to undergo endothermic transformation when it is subjected to an elevated temperature.
The invention will be better understood by referring to the description at the same time as to the appended drawing which represents, only by way of example, various embodiments of the invention, and in which: - Figure 1 shows in section a simplified embodiment of the invention,
FIG. 2 gives, also in section, a view of a second possible embodiment of the invention,
- Figure 3 shows, in section, a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention.
Referring more particularly to the embodiment a t i o n shown in Figure 1, a door frame
1 according to the invention comprises an external profile 2, one wing 3 of which is applied to the external face 4 of the wall 5 in which the door opening is made, and the other wing 6 of which enters the door opening on substantially the width of said wall 5. A projection 7 in this wing 6 plays the role of listel vis-à-vis a door 8. The door frame also includes an interior profile 9, of which a wing 10 applies sure ! the internal face 11 of the wall 5, and a second wing 12 of which enters the door opening over substantially the thickness of the door.
<EMI ID = 1.1>
! respectively secured to the outer face 4 and the inner face 11 of the wall 5 by screw fixing means resting on their wings 3 and 10; they are joined to one another by their wings 6 and 12 between which and in contact with which a pad 13 of a material capable of undergoing endothermic transformation is placed when it is subjected to a high temperature, this buffer 13 also being traversed by means for securing the wing 6 to the wing 12.
The double goal of achieving a door frame offering the desired resistance to both burglary and fire is thus achieved.
Indeed, from the point of view of burglary, the metal porous frame is secured to the two faces of the wall in the bay in which it is placed, while the joining of the two parts of the frame is made in the thickness of the door, and is therefore inaccessible from the outside. From the point of view of fire resistance, the passage of heat, in the event of a fire, from the exterior profile to the interior profile, is delayed by the endothermic transformation of the pad 13 of material interposed between the two profiles.
<EMI ID = 2.1>
a door profile 101 consists of an external profile
1102 and an interior profile 109.
The outer profile 102 is applied by a boxed wing 103 against the outer face 4 of the wall 5, and further comprises a wing 106 penetrating into the door opening over substantially the entire thickness of the wall 5. The wing in box 103 is suitably folded to form an inclined receiving surface 114 for the head of a screw-shaped fixing means, such as a lag screw 115, to the wall, and receiving surfaces 116, 117, a decorative frame 118 which is arranged parallel to the wall.
The inner section 109 is applied by a boxed wing 110 against the inner face 11 of the wall 5, and comprises a double wing 112 penetrating into the door opening over substantially the entire thickness of the door. The double wing
112 consists of a first element 119 formed integrally. by folding with the boxed wing 110 and a second element 120, parallel to the element 119, and formed by a wing of an L-shaped profile.
121, the other wing 122 of which is joined by welding the boxed wing 110. The boxed wing 110 is suitably folded to form an inclined receiving surface 123 for the head of a screw-shaped fixing means such as a lag screw
124.
Finally, this frame is completed by an L-shaped profile;
125 of which one boxed wing 126 constitutes listel, and the other wing 127 constitutes fixing wing.
According to this embodiment, the outer profile 102 and the inner profile 109 are fixed on either side of the wall 5. The end of the wing 106 engaging between the two elements 119, 120 of the double wing 112, at the same time as the fixing wing 127 of the L-profile 125 constituting listel. The end of the wing 106, as well as the fixing wing 127 of the profile
125 are joined to the elements 119, 120 of the double wing 112, with the interposition of buffers 113, 113 ′ of a material capable of undergoing endothermic transformation when it is subjected to a high temperature.
Since the various elements of the frame, including the strip profile, are joined together when these elements are placed on the door opening, this embodiment makes it possible to correct certain irregularities in the construction, and simultaneously a correct arrangement of the listel in relation to the door.
Finally, according to FIG. 3, which represents a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, a door frame 201 consists of an external profile 202, an internal profile 209 and a profile constituting listel 225.
The outer profile 202 includes a box wing
203 applying to the external face 4 of the wall 5 and comprising orifices 228 for the passage of the fixing screw heads in the form of a lag screw 215. This external profile 202 also includes a second wing 206, connecting at an angle straight to the boxed wing 203, and penetrating into the door opening to extend substantially over the thickness of the wall 5. An L 229 receiving element of the head of a fixing screw is secured, by the two ends of the L, of the boxed wing 203, inside the latter. The top of the L comes into contact with the outer face 4 of the wall 5, while one of the branches of the L forms with the face 4 of the wall an angle of 30 [deg.]
and comprises, opposite the orifices 228, orifices 230 for
the passage of the fixing screws.
The inner profile 209 includes a box wing
210 applying to the inner face 11 of the wall 5 and comprising, at intermediate levels with respect to the orifices
228 in the external profile, orifices 231 for the passage of the fixing screw heads in the form of a lag screw 224. This internal profile 209 also includes a second wing 212, formed of two parallel elements 219, 220, penetrating into the bay door to extend substantially over the thickness of the door 208, the element 220 being formed integrally, by bending at right angles, with the box wing 210. An L 232 receiving element of the head of the pulls -fonds 224 is secured to the boxed wing 210, inside thereof. This receiving element 232, identical for its part in contact with the wing
<EMI ID = 3.1>
exterior, and in arrangement / with respect thereto, is extended by an arm forming the second element 219 of the double wing 212. This reception element 232 has orifices 233 opposite the orifices 231.
<EMI ID = 4.1> Figure 3 is completed by a list constituent profile 225, of which. a boxed wing 226 forms the strip itself and of which a second wing, perpendicular to the boxed wing, forms fixing wing 227.
The assembly of the various elements is carried out as in the embodiment of Figure 2, with the interposition of pads 213, 213 'of material capable of undergoing endothermic transformation.
According to a particularly preferred implementation of the invention, the wing in the form of a box constituting listel proper and identified by 126 in FIG. 2 and 226 in FIG.
3 contains, coming into contact with the door, a layer of an elastic sealing material, superimposed on a material that abounds under the effect of high temperatures, the rest of the interior space of the box possibly being filled with a mass of filling, such as a wooden slat.
The soundproofing of this frame can also be increased by interposing a rock wool mattress 134, 234 between the part of the frame entering the door opening and
Wall.
Similarly, for the production of buffers 13, 113, 113 ',
213, 213 ', preferably used as the subject material
an endothermic transformation under the effect of a rise in temperature, a material teeming at high temperature, for example sold under the brand "PALUSOL" for the f i r me BASF.
It should be noted that the metal frames according to the embodiments of Figures 2 and 3 are particularly suitable for receiving a decorative frame of common design, and that their external appearance will therefore not differ significantly from a conventional wooden door frame.
It will also be noted that the design of the frame according to the invention allows it to be produced using steel profiles of simple shape, obtained by simple folding and welding of at most two elements to one another.
Finally, it should be noted that a door frame conforming to the embodiment of Figure 3, subjected to tests, has satisfied the requirements of Belgian standard N B N 713.020 with regard to fire resistance.
<EMI ID = 5.1>
modifications can be made to its achievement without departing from its spirit.
