<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"SUSPENSION AN! T'IVIDRA # PNEUMATIC OIRE OVEN DRUMS FOR WASHING MACHINES" This invention relates to a suspension
EMI1.2
pneumatic ant1v1brto1re for washing machine drums and washing machines, with incorporated centrifuge * @
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
It is well known that in washing machines of the traditional type, the rotating drums or baskets, together with their tubs containing them, are suspended or damped in different ways.
In the case of traditional washing machines, the vibrations, acting on the axis of the drum, end up being propagated to all the organs connected to him-oi and, in particular, they are transmitted to the holding tank. Said vibrations, in machines existing on the market, instead of being damped in the organs where they originate, propagate to a series of other adjacent organs, increasing in intensity; in this way, these vibrations will have repercussions, to a different extent, on all the kinematics and carriers of the machines themselves.
According to the present invention, on the other hand, provision is made for the production of a pneumatic anti-vibration suspension, which is applied to washing machines, on the support pads of the rotating drums.
The same suspension, by virtue of its characteristics, makes it possible to damp, in the most efficient way possible, the vibrations which originate especially during the phase of centrifugation, on the axis of the drum.
These features and others, of a functional and constructive nature, of the breathable air suspension according to the present invention may be better understood with the aid of an exemplary embodiment described below with reference to the various figures of accompanying drawings, in which @
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
- Figure 1 against a washing machine, drawn in side view ooupée, and provided with the pneumatic antivibration suspension of the invention; - Figure 2 shows a side view - faoe of the same air suspension; - Figure 3 relates to the same antivibration suspension, in a cutaway side view.
With particular reference to the number symbols of the various figures of the accompanying drawings, the anti-vibration suspension according to the present invention is characterized by the fact that it is applied, preferably, to the front wall 1 and to the rear wall 2 of the. the washing tank.
Said pneumatic antivibration suspension, in particular, includes a metal support 3 with a flange, provided with a seal 4, interposed between a wall of the machine and said metal support 3.
The latter is provided, on its internal curved surface, with a series of cavities 5, suitably oriented, and aptos to serve as a housing and anchoring seat for a series of reliefs 6, made on an air chamber 7, to pneumatic tightness.
The latter is provided, in turn, other internal reliefs 8, engaging in cavities 9, obtained in an external support 10, in which one or more pads are housed *
In the specific case considered, by way of example, there is illustrated a cylindrical roller bearing 11, capable of sliding relative to an internal ring 12, constituting an integral part of said bearings.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The internal ring 12, in part, supports one end of the shaft 13, which is made integral with the rotating basket 14 by means of a locking life 25.
The aforementioned bearing, which constitutes an integral part of this pneumatic anti-vibration suspension, comprises a water-sealing ring 15 and two grease-resistant rings 16 and 17.
From the foregoing, it is easy to see that the shaft 13, which supports the rotating orbiter, can be applied directly to the walls of a washing machine, by simply interposing a pair of anti-vibration pneumatic suspensions, of the type previously described *
These suspensions cushion them at the base. vibrations acting on the shaft 13, which supports the rotating cup 14.
Said vibrations are damped by the air chamber 7, with pneumatic integrity, which is maintained at an appropriate internal inflation pressure; the same chamber 7 is in fact raooordde to a pipe 18, connected to a compressed air generator. Figure 1 shows, purely by way of example, an application diagram of this balanced suspension to a washing machine of general type.,
In FIG. 1, we have drawn a motor-reduction unit 19, actuating the basket during the washing phase, and a series of other transmission members.
These are formed by a friction 20 and by a motor 21, driving the basket during the centrifugation phase the motor 21 supports a pulley 22, which, by means of a series of belts 23, causes the rotation of a pulley 24 , made integral with the shaft 13, supporting the oorbe 14.
