<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Device for fixing devices comprising a sheet metal case.
The present invention relates to a device for fixing apparatus comprising a sheet metal housing on frame-shaped supports, cabinet-like frames and the like.
It is known to fix devices with sheet metal housings against the wall or on frames by means of screws. The back of the case and the frame are for this purpose pierced with holes at specific locations. The drawback of devices of such a conformation lies in the fact that it is not possible to ob-

maintain a high degree of protection. Another arrangement avoids this drawback due to the fact that sheet metal brackets are provided on the outer sides of the housing, the connection between the housing and the frame also being effected by screws. The disadvantage is then that a row without voids of the sheet metal boxes is not possible.
Another known embodiment is characterized by dimensionally adjusted housings and by a mounting plate, the housings being connected with the plate by screws forming a spacer and a stop plate. Regardless of the fact that this type of fixing is very expensive, it must be noted that it does not lend itself to the manufacture of large distribution installations. All the drawbacks mentioned are avoided by a device which has recently become known, which is characterized by the fact that for fixing the housing to the frame, pluggable conical feet are provided which are struck in also conical housings arranged on the bottom. of the housing and which are held captively by the insertion of tabs.
This achievement constitutes a considerable advance in the state of the art. However, it should be noted that it also has several drawbacks. The conical housings, for example, are inserted by striking, which causes violent shocks and deterioration of the switching devices already mounted in the casings. Although the folding of the tabs guarantees the impossibility of loss, it does not allow the case to be replaced in the event that an extension of the installation or a similar operation becomes necessary. In addition, loosening of the entire connection is not excluded since the tab does not in all cases fully rest against the recesses of the plug-in foot.

The invention is based on the problem of creating a device which safely avoids the drawbacks mentioned. This is to be achieved by simple means and without considerable additional expense, the emphasis being on a fastening which is strong but can be easily detached and exhibits good electrical conductivity.
In accordance with the invention, this result is obtained owing to the fact that the plug-in conical foot has two recesses connected by a passage for receiving a threaded screw and has a bracket arranged so as to be able to slide on the screw. and which in turn engages in a recess of the housing.
The slidingly arranged square is then designed so that the angular appendage is larger than the recess of the housing and comes to be placed in the latter. The diameter of the screw corresponds approximately to the thickness of the plug-in foot and the width of the passage. The actual head of the screw rests against a rectangular shaped flange and the screw is protected against unintentional release by known locking devices.
One embodiment of the subject of the invention is shown, by way of non-limiting example, in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is a front elevation of the plug-in foot
Fig 2 is a front elevation of the plug-in foot with housing and sheet metal enclosure.
Fig. 3 is a section according to FIG. 2.
As can be seen in detail in the figures, the plug-in conical foot 1 has two different recesses 2 and 3 which are connected by a recessed passage 4. The plug-in foot 1 engages in a housing 5 having a corresponding reverse conformation which is rigidly connected with the bottom 6 of the bowl.

tier of the device 11 shielded in sheet metal. The connection between the plug-in foot 1 and the housing 5 is obtained by a screw 7 and a bracket 8 connected thereto.
The assembly is carried out as follows:
The conical plug-in foot 1 is inserted into the housing 5. These parts are adjusted with respect to each other, with regard to their dimensions, so that the plug-in foot can be inserted without abutting against the end of the 'slot 5 itself. The recess 9 of the housing 5 and the recess 2 then overlap, i.e. so that the greater part of the recess 2, in the direction of insertion, is covered by the corresponding part of the cover plate 10 of housing 5.
The square 8 having an internal thread is passed through the recess 9 which is designed so that the square comes to rest in a form connection, The screw 7 is now guided through the passage 4 towards the square 8 The foot in! 1- chable 1 is pulled by means of the square 8 in the device 11 shielded in sheet metal by the tightening of the screw 7. The latter then comes to rest against the edge 3 ′ in the form flange of the recess 3, It is stopped by spring elements known per se.
Since the screw 7 corresponds roughly to the thickness of the plug-in foot 1 and the housing 5 is also suitable for this, the screw 7 cannot get stuck or come loose. another way. This obviously provided that the width of the passage 4 is adapted to the diameter 'of the screw
By such a fastening device, a solid connection is obtained, but at the same time easily removable, which can be reused each time A particular advantage, which has not yet been mentioned, lies in the fact that one establishes
