<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Fig. 2 en est une vue en perspective,
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Threshing device, more particularly for a combine harvester.
The invention relates to rotating drum threshing devices, and more especially to those intended for combine harvesters.
The threshing operation is based on the separation of the straw and the grain under the effect of a relative movement between the threshing basket and the corresponding drum. During the rotation of the drum, the grain is retained by friction follows the basket, it is accelerated and as a result of this acceleration it
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
is torn from the straw. The result of the operation thus ultimately depends on the size of the surfaces with which the products to be treated come into contact between the threshing drum and the corresponding bearing.
In conventional threshing devices comprising a rod threshing drum and a fixed basket, the angle at which the basket encircles the drum cannot be increased as desired since the power required to drive the drum cannot be increased as desired. drum then rises disproportionately
However, if one wishes to obtain a higher flow rate than with the known devices, it would be appropriate on the contrary to increase to a large extent the aforementioned angle.
The invention aims precisely to increase to an extent. considerable area of the drum which can be used for threshing without noticeably increasing the power required to drive the drum. It also makes it possible to solve the problem of adapting the drum to a very large extent to a wide variety of products to be treated, and this by very simple means.
To this end, in accordance with the invention, the lower part of the rotating drum of the threshing device, provided with a solid wall, is surrounded over part of its periphery, and preferably over more than 180., By a flexible strip. made in the manner of a sieve allowing the passage of grain and which circulates in the same direction as the drum, but at a different speed from that. ci, in order to achieve a relative displacement between the two organs.
It is advantageous to produce the strip in endless form and to return it by detour rollers following a polygonal profile so as to provide space below the drum and the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
part of the band which surrounds it, a free space having a width greater than the diameter of the drum and delimited in cross section by the band itself,
According to another characteristic of the invention, the free space thus created below the drum by the return mode of the band, contains a receiving trough which extends over the entire length of the drum in order to collect the grain. beaten, the bottom of this trough being equipped with an outlet screw, in the known manner.
According to the invention the surface of the drum can be provided rough and it is preferably the same for that of the strip. In addition, to allow its adaptation to the desired threshing power, this permeable strip can be made of textile. made of rubber, plastic or the like.
The appended drawing, given by way of example, will make it possible to better understand the invention, the characteristics that it presents and the advantages that it is likely to provide.
Fig. 1 is a schematic side view of a threshing device according to the invention, capable of being associated for example with a combine harvester.
Fig. 2 is a perspective view,
The device shown in FIG. 1 comprises a threshing drum 2 equipped with a closed wall. This drum is fed in the known manner by means of an elevator 1a, as indicated by arrow 1. It rotates in the direction of arrow 12. The straw is returned in the ordinary manner to a detour drum 13 as indicated by fieche 11, then towards the jerk plates 14.
The invention relates to the arrangement of a flexible strip 3 which surrounds the drum 2 from below at a preferable angle.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
ment greater than 180. As can be seen in fig. 2 this strip is made in the manner of a sieve, so as to allow the passage of grain. The belt 3 is generally set in an endless form and is fed back by rollers 4, 5, 6, 4a and 5a. Fig. 1 shows such a guide in which the rollers 4, 5 are on the right, the roller 6 in the center, and the rollers 4a, 5a on the left, the assembly being arranged symmetrically with respect to the vertical axial plane of the apparatus, thus making a polygon.,.
Below the drum 2 and the part of the band which surrounds it, a free space 7 (fig, 1) has been made, the width of which exceeds the diameter of the drum, this space being delimited in cross section by the band. 3 itself. You can choose all the dimensions (length, width, height) by acting on the guiding mode of the strip. In the preferred embodiment of FIG. 1, a receiving trough 8 in the form of a gutter suitable for receiving the threshed grain has been arranged in the aforementioned space and over the entire length of the drum. The trough 8 can in the known manner be equipped with an output screw 9 towards its lowest point. In many applications, it has turned out to be advantageous to produce the surface of the drum 2 in rough form, and preferably also that of the strip 3.
Furthermore, in order to adapt the permeable strip 3 to the desired threshing rate, it can be made of textile, rubber, plastic, etc.
According to the invention, the drum 2 on the one hand and the band 3 on the other hand are driven so as to determine a relative displacement between them. This movement has an adjustable, but regular and marked scraping action. It thus increases the flow rate to a large extent while ensuring the aforementioned scraping effect to a gentle degree. This effect of the following device
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
the invention is very similar to the pre-cleaning of the grind in the flour mill and it reduces the importance of this.
The relative movement between the band and the drum can be obtained and ensured by drive or delay devices suitable to each other, In addition to increasing the threshing rate, the device according to the invention comprises the additional advantage of allowing the easy replacement of the flexible band 3 in order to adapt the apparatus to the most diverse operating conditions,, The band 3 is provided extremely flexible. It can have any desired thickness and the grain passage orifices can be arranged there regularly or irregularly, When this strip is established in thick form as mounted in FIG. 2, the useful surface of the device is significantly increased by the effect of the scraping action friction which occurs along the length of the walls of the openings.
