<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>

Grain tank for combine harvester.
The invention relates to a grain tank for a combine harvester, which is provided with a conveyor for transporting the grain product to the grain tank, as well as a distribution device associated with this conveyor.
There is already a grain tank of the kind which has just been indicated, known for example from the German publication 11 75 931. In the case of this currently known grain tank, the product, transported upwards by the elevator, is delivered through a feed opening in the grain tank. In the area of this feed opening, a rotating shaft is provided, which is held by bearings mounted in the end walls of the grain tank. Worm threads are provided on this shaft which are spaced apart from each other. While the bean container is being loaded, there is a gradual build-up of product below the first auger.
When this accumulation of product has reached a level of height so high that it reaches the zone of action of the first step of the first worm, the product is seized and it is transported in the direction of the second worm until 'at the end of the first worm. At the end of the first worm, the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
product is then released and it forms a second accumulation of product which increases until it reaches a level of height such that it arrives in the area of the second transport auger. As soon as the aforementioned height level has been reached, there is a lateral distribution of the product under the action of the second worm.
This ensures ample use of the load capacity of the grain tank in the area of the first worm and in the area of the second worm. However, it has been shown to be disadvantageous that such a distribution can only be obtained under conditions such that the two worms constantly exert a grinding effect on the grain product; - which cannot go without avoiding damage to the product itself.
It is for the reasons which have just been indicated that the present invention is based on the need to provide a grain tank of the kind defined precisely in the preamble to this document which is designed in an embodiment such as the product transported in this grain tank can not, during distribution, be subjected to any grinding operation The object of the present invention which has just been stated is achieved according to this invention by the fact that the distribution device is located at - above the maximum height level of the product in bulk in the grain tank.
Advantageously, the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
distribution device consists of a casing, of circular cross section, having an ejection opening which is formed, that is to say delimited, by a lower edge of the bottom of the casing and by a protective screen which joins the upper part of the casing.
To feed the grain product to this distribution device, the distribution device housing has, at one of its end sides, a feed opening which is followed by a tubular conduit which is connected to the housing rejection from the transporter transporting the grain product to the grain tank. according to a particular embodiment of the grain tank which makes construction particularly simple, provision is made for a shaft to be mounted, so that it can be controlled, by one of its ends, in one of the walls of end of the casing of the distribution device and, by its other end, in an end wall of the rejection box.
In addition, according to another particle-parity of embodiment of the grain tank which is the subject of the present invention, the shaft is, in the region of the tubular conduit, provided with a sheet metal plate rotating in a helix and forming screws endless and is, in the area of the distribution device provided with at least one rejection vane. According to an essential embodiment characteristic of the grain tank which is the subject of the present invention, the bottom of the casing of the distribution device embraces the envelope circle of the discharge vane
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
in the zone of the admission of the product to a greater extent than in the zone of the bottom which is distant at most from the zone of admission of the product.
Another very advantageous embodiment feature of the grain tank which is the subject of the present invention consists in that the front edge of the bottom of the casing of the distribution device with respect to the median plane of the casing of the distribution device which is perpendicular to the in the axial direction, advances into the product supply zone and, from there, is directed in a straight line, obliquely, towards the rear, in the direction of the median plane of the casing of the distribution device. In this way, it will be obtained that the product is distributed in a uniform and regular manner and ejected likewise over the entire width of the ejection opening of the casing of the distribution device.
Part of the product will fall from there directly into the grain tank, while another part of the product will be, by the reject vane, driven out by centrifugation upwards, towards the protective screen, which, for that the distribution of the product is ensured, is provided with adjustable guide plate plates.
On the one hand, given the shape proposed by the present invention in which the bottom of the casing of the distribution device is provided and, on the other hand, by the intervention of the upper protective screen, which is provided with plates of adjustable guide plates, there will be a uniform and regular distribution of the product in the
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
grain tank, without the distribution device, which is located above the maximum height level of the product, coming into contact with the grain product in the tank.
A more detailed explanation of the present invention will be given in the remainder of this description by the description of an exemplary embodiment of the grain tank which is the subject thereof, a description which is illustrated by the various figures of the schematic drawings appended to this brief.
In these drawings, FIG. 1 represents the upper part of a grain tank provided with a distribution device, FIG. 2 represents a sectional view along line IIII which is indicated in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 represents a sectional view along line III - III which is shown in Figure 4, and Figure 4 shows, in a plan view, from above, the device that can be seen shown in Figure 1.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
By the reference number 1, a grain tank of a combine harvester has been designated, which, for the rest, has not been shown in the drawings annexed to this specification, a casing of the distribution device 2 being fixed. to one of the side walls of the grain tank.
This distribution device casing 2 is formed by two end walls 3 and 4, an element 5 of circular cross section, a bottom 6 and an upper protective screen 7. The ejection opening 8 of the casing 2 of the distribution device is delimited towards the rear by the front edge 9 of the bottom 6, by the upper protective screen 7 and by the end walls 3 and 4. The upper protective screen 7 is , on its internal side, provided with guide plate plates 10, which can be adjusted. At the end wall 4 of the casing 2 of the repeating device follows, by means of a flange 11, a tubular conduit 12 which, inside the rejection box 13 of an elevator 14, constitutes the connection with the casing 2 of the distribution device.
As we can very well realize if we refer to the representations of Figure 3 and Figure 4 of the accompanying drawings, in the side wall 3 of the casing 2 of the distribution device and in the wall d end 15 of the rejection box 13 of the elevator 14 is mounted a shaft 16 which can be controlled, shaft 16 which, in the region of the tubular conduit 12, is provided with a plate 17 rotating in a helix and forming a worm and which, in the area of the ejection casing 2 of the distribution device, is
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
fitted with a reject vane 18.
We can also realize, if we refer to the representation of Figure 2 of the accompanying drawings, as well as that of Figure 1, that the front edge 9 of the bottom 6 of the housing 2 of the distribution device, with respect to the median plane 19 of the casing of the distribution device, which is perpendicular to the axial direction, advances into the zone of the product supply by the plate rotating helically and forming worm 17 and, thence is directed in a straight line obliquely, towards the rear, towards the median plane of the casing 2 of the distribution device.
Since, in this zone, the casing 2 of the distribution device is still circular, the bottom 6 of the casing 2 of the distribution device embraces the envelope circle 20 of the rejection vane 18 in the area of admission of the product by the helical rotating plate forming an endless screw 17 to a greater extent than in the bottom zone which is as far as possible from the product admission zone.
The bottom 6 of the casing 2 of the distribution device being produced in such a form, it happens that the product delivered by the plate rotating in a helix and forming a worm 17 will be distributed uniformly and evenly over the width of the casing 2 of the distribution device, part of this product being driven by centrifugation downwards, into the grain tank, and another part of this product being driven by centrifugation against the internal side of the upper protective screen 7, which deflects the product to the far end
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
of the grain tank, the dispersion width being determined by the adjustable guide plate plates 10.
