<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
indépendamment du moule d'emboutissage, L'obtention d'un déecupage parfait exige toutefois dans et cas un nouveau centrage ou aligne- ment du corps creux sur la matrice de découpage;
La machine conforme à la présente invention permet d'éviter ces inconvénients. Elle est caractérisée par le fait que les dis- positifs de tonnage, de découpage et d'évacuation sont réunis en une unité formant un bloc-outil mobile qui comporte au moins une empreinte rapportée et qui agit en liaison avec un organe de blocage de la bande sur l'empreinte rapportée, dans une première position de travail, et qui comporte également un poinçon de préétirage péné- trant dans l'empreinte rapportée et un organe fixe de découpage des corps creux formas;

L'unité assurant le formage, le découpage et 1 évacuation des godets a atteint à nouveau le point de départ du cycle de travail, au point 0, 11 faut noter que l'entraîneront par chaînes de la bandes de matière plastique est enclenché juste avant le début du mouvement de fermeture, corme l'indique le secteur T de la fig.9, ci$ sorte qu'un tronçon de bande, préalablement chauffé par le dispositif 17, est transporté vers le poste de formage, sous les poinçons de pré- étirage 40 relevés;

Par suite de la disposition décrite, une ro- tation de l'arbre 3 selon figure 11 dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre entraîne la came 68 - d'une forme correspondant à celle de la came 32 du premier exemple - qui fait pivoter le levier 70 dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre, à partir de sa position corres- pondant à l'état de fermeture du bloc d'outils 18;

La présente invention permet d'augmenter la durée de contact por refroidissement du matériau des godets k 75% d'un cycle (figure 9), de sorte que le débit de la mach'ne pourrait théoriquement être supérieur de 50% à celui des modèles précédents. La limitation de débit de cette machine ne résidé donc pas dans le temps de refroidissement nécessaire;

Machine for the production of stamped hollow bodies in thermoplastic material.
The present invention relates to a machine for the production of hollow bodies stamped in a thermoplastic material, said machine comprising devices for conveying, heating and forcing a plastic strip, for cutting the hollow bodies in the strip and for cutting. evacuation of cut hollow bodies.
On known machines of this type, in which the plastic material is supplied in the form of a strip, there is provided - in addition to a heating station for plasticizing the plastic material - a forming station, then a forming station. cutting; the maul $ containing the oreux body is moved to the cutting station, after forming, then rowing after cutting and ejection of the hollow body from the strip.
In order to avoid this annoying transport it is common to separate the hollow body; still connected to the strip, from the mold to the forming station and transporting it to the cutting station,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
regardless of the stamping mold, Obtaining a perfect decoupage however requires in and case a new centering or alignment of the hollow body on the cutting die;
it is therefore tax * sible to transport the plastic strip rigidly between the various stations. The oral body to be transported from the forming station to the cutting station must also have a certain rigidity. which increases the time required between forming and cutting.
the transport devices to the station for cutting the plastic strip comprising the stamped hollow body must also have sufficient material on this strip to grip it, transport it and align it perfectly, Narrow limits are thus imposed on the use of the belt and it is necessary to reckon with relatively large falls.
The machine according to the present invention avoids these drawbacks. It is characterized by the fact that the tonnage, cutting and evacuation devices are united in a unit forming a movable tool block which comprises at least one attached recess and which acts in conjunction with a locking member of the strip on the added impression, in a first working position, and which also comprises a pre-stretching punch penetrating into the added impression and a fixed member for cutting the formed hollow bodies;
the tool block can be brought into a second working position, in order to allow the evacuation of these hollow bodies out of the machine,
The forming and cutting of the hollow bodies can therefore be carried out on the same station, which makes a new centering of the strip unnecessary. This not only results in a sharp reduction in the time required for the entire operation, by compared to the known machines * !, but also an improvement in the usability of the plastic belt,
The accompanying drawing shows an embodiment of the machine according to the present invention

The machine shown in Figures 1 and 2 comprises a frame comprising the bearings of a main drive shaft 3, coupled by an electric motor 2 disposed laterally. On the top of the frame is shown a horizontal transverse beam 4 with two side members, whose main axis in the example shown makes an angle of 30 with the axis of the main drive shaft 3, The arms 5 of end of the beam, directed downwards, carry a feed roller 6 for the thermoplastic material to be worked, presented in the form of a strip. The same end of the beam also carries guide rollers 7 over which the strip passes to reach a transport device. This transport devicea disposed on the beam 4, comprises two parallel transport chains 8 (FIGS. 7a, 7b).
Each of the two endless transport chains passes

on a chain wheel 9 mounted on a drive shaft 9a, guide pinions 10, 11, 12 and 13, a return wheel 14 and a new guide pinion 15, before returning to the chain wheel
9.
The various sprockets and chain wheels are arranged in the beam 4 so that the upper chain strand, ensuring the transport of the strip, is horizontal and parallel to the major axis of the beam between the wheels 9 and 14, passing over the guide pinion 15; the guide pinion 11, slightly offset outwards, opposite the guide pinion 15, on the other hand maintains the lower return strand outside the transport zone of the plastic band for fixate? temporarily the strip of plastic material on the chains 8 driven in synchronism with the shaft 9a, teeth 16 are arranged in a known manner on the opposite faces of the chains; when the machine is in operation, the edges of the strip of plastic material are applied to these teeth by devices not shown.
A first section of the path traveled by the upper chain strand between the wheels 14 and 9, in the direction of advance of the strip, serves as a heating zone, A heating device
17 is fixed on the frame 1, with the possibility of pivoting in a horizontal plane.
These heater is equipped with electric bars which are located exactly above the part of the strip which will be interested in the following forming process, when the heater is in the working position, indicated by dashes on the figure 2, After this heating zone, the conveyor chains 8 pass through the forming station, in the frame 1 of the machine, As figures 4-6 show in detail, the drilling, cutting and evacuation devices hollow bodies to be produced form a unit at this forming station, and for this purpose include a mobile tool block 18, with two attached recesses 19 placed side by side in the direction of the main drive shaft 3.
The tool block 18 is mounted between two arms of a beam 20, so

The roller 3a, on one arm of the lever, acts in conjunction with a cam 32 fixed to the main drive shaft 3, while the roller 31b, on the other arm of the lever, acts in conjunction with a control surface 33 on the corresponding arm of the beam 20.

The mold then begins to open; this opening lasts 25% of the work cycle, as shown by sector 0 in fig. 9. This opening of the mold is ensured by the cam 32 which, at point P of the working cycle, reaches the gnlet 3a of the lever 30 through one end of its cylindrical part. The rotation! of the cam 32 causes, therefore. of the reduction of its ra on, a pivoting of the lever 30 around its axis 29 (figure 4), in the direction of clockwise: the roller 3lb of the lever 30 then takes the position indicated by dotted lines on the figure 4.

As has already been indicated, the vacuum acting in the attached indentations is eliminated at point Q of the working cycle (figure 9) - when the opening of the mold is finished (sector 0) .. by inflating d compressed air in the inserts 19, through the same channels 41 (Figures 5 and 6). This operation is represented by sector D in FIG. 9. The cooled cups are thus ejected from the added impressions.
The device is designed in such a way that the buckets, ejected with the horizontal axis a few millimeters above the added indentations, are gripped by suitable grippers which have a good grip behind the clear edge of the buckets, completely remove them from the added indentations. and stack them! the stack moves away step by step from the machine at the rate of the arrival of new buckets, At point Q (end of the

roller 31b then presses on the control surface 33 of the beam 20, in the direction of the latter's return to the position shown in solid lines in FIG. 4. The tool block 18 is thus brought back into the position of closing of the mold, as indicated by sector 0 of the working cycle, of which it represents 25% (fig, 9).
The unit ensuring the forming, cutting and 1 discharge of the buckets has again reached the starting point of the work cycle, at point 0, 11 should be noted that the plastic strip will be driven by chains just before the start of the closing movement, as indicated by the sector T of fig. 9, here $ so that a section of strip, previously heated by the device 17, is transported to the forming station, under the pre punches - stretching 40 readings;
this transport path, relatively short., is completed immediately after the start of the closing movement of the tool block 18, as against the sector T of figure 9, The evacuation of the 'cut strip waste is produced at the same time as the arrival of a new strip section at the forming station, In the example of FIG. 1, the end of the transverse beam 4, on the side of the exit of the bance, bears a winding cylinder 42 on which is wound the web fall, for reasons of clarity a simple guide of the roller is shown in the example described, between the lever 30 and the cam 32.
In order to prevent the roller 'la from jumping during rapid operation of the machine, it is not applied by spring to the periphery of the cam 32, but guided in a suitable groove of this cam,
In the example described., The transport chains 8 passing on horizontal axle wheels are driven intermittently by means of a pneumatic piston device 43 (Figures 2 and 7a), this drive being transmitted, as indicated, to a shaft 9a on the output side of the machine, In the variant shown in figure 8, the drive chains 44 pass on wheels with a vertical axis, each passing over a chain wheel 45 on the input side, a

67 is also fixed in this example on a main drive shaft 3, driven by a motor 2 disposed matéraiement on the frame 1, and on which are mounted all the cams controlling the various functions of the machine, as in the first das described. Thus a card 68 is provided in this example and acts in connection with a roller 69 fixed on an arm of a double lever 70.
The other arm of this lever 70, pivoting about an axis 71 in the frame 1, carries an articulation head 72 guided in a longitudinal bore of the cited lever arm, by means of a bar 73. The internal support of this bar 73 by a spring 74 allows limited axial displacement of the bar towards the outside, which is equivalent to an extension of the lever 70. An oscillating arm 75 rests on the articulation head 72, its other end being read again at beam 60, between axes 61 and 62.
It should be noted that the lever 70 has the form of a double lever acting in conjunction with a cam 68 only on one side of the machine, while on the other side there is provided a lever 70a to. a single arm, rigidly linked to the lever 70 by a transverse bar, resting in the frame 1 on an axis 71a soaxial to the axis 71 and carrying, like the lever 70, an articulation head 72 read back to the other arm of the beam 60 by a swing arm 75.
As a result of the arrangement described, a clockwise rotation of the shaft 3 according to FIG. 11 drives the cam 68 - of a shape corresponding to that of the cam 32 of the first example - which makes pivot the lever 70 in the direction of clockwise from its position corresponding to the closed state of the tool block 18;
the lever 70 then causes the beam 60 to pivot 90 in the counterclockwise direction, which in turn causes the block to pivot from or. tils 18 of 90 in the opposite direction, towards its open position, The lever 7oa ensures a perfectly rigid guidance of the tool block by its corresponding elements 72 and 75 and by the transverse bar 76, The operation of this type embodiment also corresponds exactly to that of the example of Figure 1, It should be noted that it is also possible here to provide, instead of '

cams 67 and 68 with rolling curve for the rollers 66 and 69, cams having a groove ensuring the positive guidance of the rollers.
It was accepted for the machines described above that the forming of the plastic material only using the vacuum under the strip, apart from the mechanical action of the pre-stretch punches. It is, however, also possible to create an overpressure above the strip by means of compressed air which ensures even better contact of the material formed from the strip with the wall of the indentations to be reported,} a $ transi is thus obtained according to even faster heat from the patic material to the mold, which allows a higher speed of piloting of the cutter beam,
The actual forming and cooling time is a maximum of approximately 50% per working cycle on the * stamping machines known until now, the working speed being for each machine determined by the cooling time, it is understandable that a certain maximum cannot be exceeded,
The present invention makes it possible to increase the duration of contact for cooling of the material of the buckets k 75% of a cycle (figure 9), so that the flow rate of the machine could theoretically be 50% higher than that of the models. previous ones. The flow limitation of this machine therefore does not lie in the necessary cooling time;
on the other hand, the limit flow is determined by the possible swiveling and lifting speed of the tool block.
Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described and shown, it is capable of numerous variants accessible to those skilled in the art, depending on the applications envisaged and without departing for this. the spirit of invention.
