<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

ELEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION.
The present invention relates to a building element for making walls.
The object of the invention is to provide a building element, the shape of which lends itself equally well to the construction of dwellings as to the production of small elements which can be used as building sets, this by modifying only the elements. dimensions of the elements.
To this end, the construction element according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises means for interlocking the lateral faces of the adjacent elements.
According to this embodiment, said interlocking means consist of protrusions and notches in the form of a dovetail.
According to this same embodiment, said protrusions are arranged in line with the edge of the element.
According to a first embodiment, said protrusions are placed on either side of the same front face of the element.
In another variant, the aforementioned projections are arranged in line with two edges of two different front faces.
Other details and particularities of the invention will emerge from the description of a construction element according to the invention, a description which will be given below by way of non-limiting example and with reference to the accompanying drawings. . In these figures, the same reference notations relate to identical elements.
FIG. 1 shows from the front an assembly produced by means of the elements according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a sectional view along the plane II-II of Figure 1.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
FIG. 3 shows, also in section, a variant of the invention.
The elements and the assembly represented by these figures allow the production of walls or walls of any thickness and in any form.
In a first embodiment, use is made of elements 1 consisting of any agglomerate and a hardening binder making it possible to obtain, in a suitable mold, smooth surfaces permitting flawless interlocking of the various projections and notches. In the case where the elements in question are used as building blocks considered as games, these can obviously be made of any other material, for example wood, plaster, plastic or any other product. suitable for this purpose.
The elements 2, corresponding to the second variant, are, in both cases, made up of the same materials.
The elements 1 have protrusions ending in a dovetail 3, these protrusions both being arranged on either side of the same end face 4. The opposite end face 5 is smooth and does not present any protrusion. All the elements used in this first embodiment being the same, with the exception of the pieces or corner elements, the interlocking of two adjacent elements does not present any difficulty since it will suffice to use to in turn, on a horizontal plane, an element placed straight and the same element inverted from 1800 in a vertical plane.
An exactly analogous way of proceeding makes it possible to produce the same walls by means of the elements 2 corresponding to the second embodiment. In the latter, however, the dovetail-shaped projections 3 'are arranged one on the inner side of the element, the other on the outer side of the same element. The projections in question therefore extend, on the one hand, the outer surface 4 'and, on the other hand, the inner surface 5'. Here too the dovetail protrusions are cut in such a way that two adjacent elements 2 can be nested one inside the other by placing the first on one of its horizontal faces and the second by turning it 1800 in. a vertical plane.
Cavities 6 can be provided in the elements; the shape of these is not limited to the cylindrical shape shown by way of example in one of the elements 1 (FIG. 2).
By possibly filling the cavities with concrete, it is possible to strengthen the connection between the elements in the construction of the wall.
To proceed with the erection of a wall, as shown in Figure 1, we will start with full height elements 7 and 8 and a row of the same elements, in which however the base element 9 is a element of less height than adjacent elements. The basic elements 7, 8 and 9 rest in a manner known per se on the foundations 10.
To obtain the same height of all the vertical rows, one will place either at the top of the rows resting on the elements 7 and 8, or at the top of the row having the element 9 for base, an element of a height less than the elements 7 and 8 constituting the height difference between elements 7 and 8, on the one hand, or 7 and 9, on the other hand,
It is evident from Figures 2 and 3 that, when using the elements 1, vertical rows appearing to be of different widths will be obtained, while in the opposite case, ie. when using elements 2, these rows will be equal in appearance.
The pieces or corner elements have not been reproduced in the attached figures, but their conformation can easily be deduced from figures 2 and 3, especially since it is always possible to finish a wall , at the right of the angle of the construction for example, by providing a dovetail projection on the interior side of the wall, as would be the case in particular if we considered that in Figures 2 and 3 l extreme element of
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
left is the last element of the wall, before the corner of it.
It is understood that the invention is in no way limited by the embodiments which have just been given and that many modifications can be made thereto, in particular as regards the form, the number, the constitution and the arrangement of the elements involved in its production, without departing from the scope of the present patent application.
