Fig.I, une coupe longitudinale en élévation au travers d'un robinet-vanne conforme à l'invention, Fig.2, une coupe partielle par A-B de Fig.I.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

flow liquid while the bore of the valve body receiving the passage pipe for the liquid is conical in shape at its ends, so that said pipe is clamped at these points by connectors of corresponding shape of the pipes supply and departure, which eliminates any joint or blockage.
Finally on the threaded rod of the valve actuator can be mounted a nut provided with an index moving along a suitable dosage scale carried by the valve.
The drawing appended to this specification shows, only by way of example, in:
Fig.I, a longitudinal section in elevation through a gate valve according to the invention, Fig.2, a partial section through A-B of Fig.I.
Fig. 3, a section on a larger scale of one end of the valve with fixing of the pipe connection by bolts.
Fig. 4, a partial elevational view of the upper part of the valve equipped with a micrometric dosing device.
In the. embodiment shown in the drawing, the gate valve essentially comprises a body I, preferably made of metal, centrally having a longitudinal bore 2 widening out in the form of a cone 3 at its ends. The bore 2 opens centrally upwards into a tube °, in which a buffer 5, made of soft material, rubber or the like, can move vertically, carried by a spindle 6 integral with a threaded rod 7 which is screwed into a nut. 8 forming a cap for the body I. The threaded rod 7 can be operated in a known manner using a small handwheel 9 or the like.
Inside the bore 2 is housed a pipe 10, made of elastic material, the nature of which depends on the liquid to be delivered by the valve. This pipe 10 is clamped between the internal wall
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
of the bore 2 via the conical ends II, II 'of the supply 12 and outgoing 12' pipes, These pipes are joined to the body I either as in FIG. 1 by sleeves 13 screwed on said body, or as in Fig. 2 by bolted flanges 14.
The passage pipe 10 being assumed to be open (solid lines in Fig.I and 2), if the handwheel 9 is rotated in the direction of the valve closing, the plug 5 coming into contact with the outer surface of the pipe 10, will exert on the latter a determined pressure which will reduce more or less considerably the passage section of the pipe 5. In its lower limit position, the plug 5 will press the upper wall of the pipe against its lower part, (dotted lines in Fig. and 2), which will cause the valve to completely plug.
By a maneuver in the opposite direction of the value 9, the buffer will rise freeing the outer surface of the pipe 10, which will resume its original shape. As the liquid cannot enter the tubing 4 of the tap, the latter is perfectly hermetic.
The flow rate of the valve can change at will from the total section of the pipe 10 to its complete closure by a very sensitive scale, which can be adjusted micrometrically for example by mounting on the threaded rod 7 of the handwheel 9 a nut 15 (Fig. 4 ) laterally bearing an index 16, which travels along a scale 17 graduated according to the needs of the intended application and appropriately attached to the cap 8.
