IMPROVEMENTS TO RAIL BEARINGS FOR METAL TRAILS FOR RAILWAYS.
The present invention relates to an improved rail pad for a metal sleeper for railway tracks.
In the various types of known metal sleepers which are provided for fixing the rails either by means of keys or by means of bolts and toads, the sleepers bear notches or are drilled with holes around which cracks or tears occur. products that put the sleepers prematurely out of service.
For this reason, we have sought to produce metal sleepers without holes. For this purpose, we have, for example, in the oas of the so-called wedge rail fixing system, reproduced by laminating the two hook-shaped projections that are are opposite and used for wedging the rail, on separate bearings which are then welded on the sleepers by electric arc welding, autogenous to the other. The lack of a suitable bearing and therefore difficult to achieve The use of bolts until now made this solution Inapplicable to the current crapand system
The rail bearing, object of the present invention,
This drawbacks this drawback in a simple and rational manner by replacing the bolts with studs and enables the production of a seamless metal cross-member of the welded type mentioned above for fixing the rails by means of clips.

The accompanying drawing shows an embodiment of the invention.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a rail pad according to the invention.
Figure 2 is an elevational view of a square shank stud.
Figure 3 is a plan view of a rail orapaud provided with a square hole.
FIG. 4 is an overall view showing a pad according to the invention in which a rail rests and giving, on the other hand, an elevational view and a sectional view of a stud screwed into the pad and surmounted by a toad, a Grower puck and a éorou.
Figures 1, 1 and 1 'denote thickenings or protrusions of the rail pad which are rectangular in shape and which extend parallel to each other in the direction of the width and over the entire width. of the bushing, Cessaillies are provided with tapped holes 2 which can pass right through the rail bushing or be drilled only to a certain depth in it. In these tapped holes is screwed, preferably fully, by its threaded end 5, a stud according to Figure 2; said threaded end is of suitable length and its end can in no case protrude from the lower part of the pad; the bearing thus has at its lower part a flat surface which makes it suitable for being placed and welded in any way on the upper face of a metal cross member.
The pin 4 of the stud has a square section and is designed to receive a rail clamp (figure 3) provided with a corresponding square hole and which, when put in place, can no longer rotate. On the clamp is placed a Grower washer, and a éorou is then fully screwed on the threaded end 5 of the stud. This éorou is tightened on the washer and on the orapaud whose tab rests on the base of the rail, all as in the well-known fixing system rail on the metal sleepers by means of bolts and clamps.
The rail pad according to the invention is preferably

rolled into long bars which are then cut off according to the desired width for the bearings. It will easily be understood that it is possible to give during the rolling to the central part of the bearing, that is to say in the part between the two transverse projections, the inclination of 1/20 (as shown in Figure 4) instead of producing this inclination by stamping in the lastraverses.
It will also be easily understood that the pad according to the invention makes it possible to provide for the placement of one or more studs in each of these projections and, consequently, of one or more toads on each side of the rail, which has a great advantage especially in the curves of a railway track.
It is understood that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described above and shown in the accompanying drawing and that certain construction details could be modified without departing from the principle of the invention. This is how we could, for example, replace the studs with rods, one end of which would be threaded to receive the tightening nut and the other end would be sealed in some way in the cushion. However, the stud is preferable given that in the event of breakage or damage it can be removed and replaced, which would not be the case in the hypothesis envisaged above, CLAIMS.
@ 1.- A rail bearing for metal sleepers for railway tracks characterized in that it is provided at its upper part with two overthicknesses or rectangular shaped projections which extend parallel to one another in the direction of the width and over the entire width of the bearing and between which the rail rests.
