<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Further training:.! In weaving looms".
The present invention relates to weaving looms and more especially to whip looms, comprising a rod with cleats. Its object is to allow the top loading of a can in a shuttle of the NORTHROP type.
According to the present invention the cleat rod which usually constitutes the obstacle to the introduction of the can from the top is moved relative to the leaf prior to loading so that the upper part of the shuttle is released and the introduction of a new bobbin by the upper part of the shuttle is made possible.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
On the other hand, the present invention also aims at economy in the cleats. For this purpose, the known cleats with a special profile requiring larger skins during their manufacture and which have a total weight of 60% more than ordinary cleats are replaced by cleats of common profile, including the heel. -guide also has a rectangular profile.
Other characteristics of the present invention will emerge from the description of the attached drawing which represents, by way of non-limiting example, one embodiment of the present invention.
In this drawing:
Figure 1 is a cross section of the leaf along lines 1-1 'of Figure 2; Figure 2 is a front view of the leaf; Figure 3 schematically shows a side view of the cleat.
In order to allow the introduction of the, conette by the upper part of the shuttle, according to the present invention the cleat rod C is able to move back transversely to the leaf, thus freeing the space above the shuttle box. so as to make it possible to load a new can from the top of the shuttle. For this purpose the ends of the rod C are made integral with parts B and E wedged on a square shaft K journaled on the one hand in a bearing F mounted on the sword and on the other hand on the bearing G forming the bottom of the shuttle box.
The rod C is maintained in its normal position by a spring R bearing on the leaf 8 and biasing down an arm T of the mobile part B. The retraction of the rod C is caused by the stop of the integral spur U part B against a movable finger D mounted on a fixed part of the frame of the loom.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In fact, when the leaf S advances and the spur U meets the movable finger D, the spring R yields and the shaft K pivots in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 1, so that the parts these B, and E and consequently the cleat rod C pass from their position indicated with solid ties in Figure 1 in the position indicated in broken lines, while the leaf S continues to advance to neutral. In this position the cleat A assumes the inclined position A 'and its link C is no longer located above the shuttle.
'When the leaf S returns, the rod C returns to its normal position under the action of the spring R and the hunting can be done.
As can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 3, the cleat A used has a current profile except for the guide heel V usually of profile shown in phantom in FIG. 1 which is replaced by a rectangular profile.
This particular conformation of cleats allows any manufacturer to produce cleats with the usual molds, the cleat weight only being increased by approximately 8%.
As a result, the price of the cleat of the present invention is almost half of a special cleat as used to date in automatic whip looms.
It goes without saying that the present improvement is in no way limited to its embodiment described and shown, which can be modified in its construction details without thereby departing from the principle of the present invention.
