<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Fig. 6 shows a view, corresponding to fig. 5, in a position which the parts occupy after the change of position of the mechanism for unloading by hand.
Fig. 7 shows these parts at the start of the unloading movement.
Fig. 8 shows the same parts in the unloading position, and
Fig. 9 shows the parts at the start of the return movement to the loading position.
The tipping body A of the wagon with automatic unloading is mounted, by the intermediary of journals b1, on the frame B. On the frame B are also arranged, so as to be able to turn, cranks b2 connected to arti- culation to connecting rods a1. The connecting rods a1 are fixed on a shaft a2, journaled in bearings a3 of the body A of the wagon. The arrangement is made in such a way that the crank mechanisms b2 a1 are, both in the loading position and in the unloading position, in the vicinity of a neutral position.
On the frame B is still mounted, so as to be able to oscillate, a compressed air cylinder C, the piston rod c1 of which has an elongated hole or slide c2, in which is engaged a pin a4, easily removable connected to
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
box A of the wagon. The piston rod c1 also carries a stopper c3, which is intended to come into engagement with the arms dl- and d2 of a lever with two arms D, rigidly connected to the shaft a2. On this shaft a2 is mounted, so as to be able to rotate freely, a sleeve E in which a hand lever F is housed so as to be able to move.
On the sleeve E is mounted, on an axis e1, a double locking pawl G, which is intended to come into engagement with a ratchet wheel H, fixed on the shaft a2 so as not to be able to rotate with respect to this one. Finally, between the frame B and at least one of the cranks b2 is a tension spring K, subjected to a preliminary tension.
In the loading position, the parts occupy the position visible in figs.1 and 2. The piston rod c1 bears by the upper end of its slide c2 against the pin a4; the stopper c3 of the piston rod is located directly under the arm d1 of the lever D, and the crank mechanisms b2 a1 are held by the spring K in the neutral position. Ratchet G is out of engagement with ratchet wheel H.
When we want to tilt the wagon body by means of compressed air, we admit compressed air to the lower side of cylinder C. The piston rod c1 then first slides by its slide c2 along the pin -a4. But, at the very beginning of this movement, the stop c3 of the piston rod comes into engagement with the arm d1 of the lever D and causes the latter to oscillate in the direction opposite to the movement of the needles of a watch, so that the mechanisms a crank b2 a1 are also moved away from their position close to neutral.
The lower end of the slide c2 finally (fig. 3) presses against the pin a4 of the body A of the wagon, after which the piston rod lifts the body A
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
until the latter has arrived in the unloading position or in a determined position from which it continues to swing by itself into the unloading position. In the first case, the mechanism then takes the position visible in fig.4. In this position, the arm d2 of the lever D is placed under the stop c3 of the piston rod c1, so as to prevent the crank mechanisms b2 a1 from continuing to move beyond their neutral position, this which could otherwise occur under the action of the spring K.
To bring the wagon body back to the loading position, the compressed air distribution to cylinder C is reversed; the protrusion c3 of its piston rod then returns the crank mechanisms b2 a1 from their neutral position, after which the upper end of the neck
2 smooth c of the piston rod comes to rest against the stud a4 (fig. 5). The piston rod c1 then returns the mechanism to the loading position according to fig.l.
To tip the wagon body by hand, the removable pin a4 is first removed. so that the compressed air cylinder C ceases to be connected to the body A. The pawl G is then brought into engagement with the ratchet wheel H in such a way that the sleeve E and consequently the hand lever F are coupled with the shaft a2 in a direction of rotation opposite to clockwise movement (fig.6).
The lever F is then rotated downwards, so that the shaft a2 turns in the same direction and the crank mechanisms b2 a1 consequently come out of their locking position, overcoming the action of the spring K ( fig. 7).
By continuing to turn the hand lever F, the wagon body A passes, in the same way as described above, into the unloading position (fig. 8).
.In this position, a stopper conch (not shown)
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
prevents the b2 a1 crank mechanisms from continuing to move.
To return to the loading position, the position of the locking pawl G (fig. 9) is reversed, after which, by turning the hand lever F clockwise, the pressure is produced. return of the wagon body to its initial position.
