<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

One piece spool pin.
The present invention relates to a new spool holder spindle for spinning, characterized in that it is produced in a single mechanical part suitably turned and adjusted and in which the springs for retaining the spool are produced by working. suitable from the spindle itself.
The object of the invention is to achieve a more economical manufacture of these spindles at the same time as improving the centering of the spool on the spindle and thus increasing the safety and regularity of the operation of the winder.
The invention consists in producing the spool-holder pins in a suitably machined rod provided with a support shoulder and in splitting this rod along its length to form the elastic strips ensuring the adhesion of the coil to the spindle.

Besides, the invention will be. described in detail below with reference to the figures of the accompanying drawing, which represent, by way of non-limiting example, one embodiment of the invention.
Figure 1 is a view of the spindle before cutting the elastic lamellae; Figure 2 is a side view of the completed spindle; e figure is a section taken along line III-III in figure 2.
Referring to these figures, the spool is threaded onto a spindle constituted by a cylindrical rod 1 tapered at its upper part 2 and provided below with a shoulder 3. Beyond this shoulder 3, the spindle is arranged in the manner usual in 4- for its adaptation on the winding machine.
The cylindrical part 1 is turned exactly to the diameter of the coil, so that the latter comes to rest without appreciable play on the spindle, so that its effective centering is ensured. This results in a great regularity of rotation of the spool and the elimination of warping, which in current devices is the frequent cause of wire breakage. therefore, the new spindle is also suitable for silk spinning. Adhesion of the spool to the spindle is ensured by a number of resilient sipes which are made in accordance with the present invention by creating longitudinal slits 5 along a certain length in the body of the spindle and by bending the tabs 6 thus produced.
This arrangement ensures very economical manufacture and is such that when the spindle is introduced into the coil, the strips can tighten more perfectly against the rod 7 of the spindle and allow the use of coils having an exact diameter. equal to that of the spindle, as necessary for perfect centering.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In addition, the new arrangement has the advantage that if, over time, due to wear or clumsy handling, one or the elastic tabs 6 should break or come off, the pin can easily be repaired by y securing resilient slats by welding, riveting or the like presently in use in the manufacture of spool pins.
The new device is therefore characterized by the very small size of the spindle, the perfection of the centering which it allows for the coil and from which the regularity of the winding results, as well as its simple and economical manufacture. - mique.
