<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Device used to force a reserve of thread.
The present invention relates to a device applied to winding systems for son advancing continuously, with the aim of creating a reserve of wire which can be unwound completely, without leaving any remainder.
The creation of a fila reserve is necessary and this also in general customary when it is necessary with certainty, after further processing, to connect in the idling of a *

end reel of this with the next reel, without the working machine having to be stopped during this operation.
For this purpose, the most diverse devices have been proposed.
For example, when changing the spool, the thread is driven continuously advancing first over a waste spool, where after the empty spool sleeve has been attached, the thread is wound up first to the hand lifts several times around it and detaches itself from the waste spool, Then the thread is brought to the edge of the spool by hand or by means of a suitable device and then when it s 'is formed the necessary number of windings serving as wire reserve, it is placed in the usual device for changing movement.
In this reserve of thread, however, it is very difficult after removal to determine which end leads to the spool and which leads to the initial, irregularly placed windings, because during removal a bouble, both ends of which lead below the coil.
In particular, it has been proposed to apply in addition to the normal reserve of threads a second, smaller thread reserve, which is first withdrawn and cut, and then when the main thread reserve has been removed, it can be recognized from neatly the exact end that leads below the coil. In particular, it is possible to reliably find the wire end bonus, but after as before, there remains on the spool sleeve a non-usable residue, which is especially unpleasant because the sleeves must before the new winding, be d first cleared of these remains.
Another known method of creating a simple reserve of wire which, when withdrawing does not form a loop, is to tighten the end of the wire when pushing in the sleeve, one below.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
of it. This, however, for obvious reasons, is not possible when the wire is continuously advancing.
The object of the present invention is to create a simple reserve of wire which does not form a loop during withdrawal, and which allows the wire to be removed from the socket without annuity.
The object of the invention is a device for the formation of thread reserves for threads which advance continuously, which consists of a ring provided with a notch, and which turns around the spool sleeve, is rigidly connected to the end directs towards the machine of the spool fixing shaft, to this shaft, the internal diameter of which has such dimensions that between it and the surface of the sleeve part which is slid over, there remains a slot in which the wire can be inserted, and in addition to the machine frame is rigidly fixed as protection of the hand, a similar ring but of larger diameter and having a similar notch,
and further between the fixed outer ring and the inner ring which rotates with the bcbine fixing shaft is a cutting device working against an edge of the notch of the inner ring.
The device according to the present invention and its mode of operation are illustrated more closely in the accompanying drawing.
Referring to the drawing, the wire 1 which advances continuously towards the winding place, is led before the change of the bebine firstly by means of the device 2 for guiding the yarn to the next winding place which is used as waste reel location and will advance to this location as waste. Then the wire, 1, for example by means of the left hand, is withdrawn and it is placed around the sleeve 3 in such a way that it rests against the front edge of the two rings, the movable ring 4 and the ring 5 fixedly mounted on the frame of the machine.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
In this way, the wire is placed simultaneously, around the rigid wire guide 6.
By means of the right hand, "one now presses the wire in the slot 7 of the fixed ring and it enters the slot 8 of the rotating ring as soon as this one has been moved below the slot 7 of the fixed ring 5. The waltzer arm 9 which balances the tension of the thread of the place of winding which follows, 'around which the thread advances as before, gives way so that the piece of thread which is placed between the edge 10 slot and the waling arm 9 is driven to the cutting location provided on the @ shearing device 11.
The end of the wire which advances towards the place of waste is thus cut. While in the meantime, by the formation of a winding, the movable end of the wire has already rested so firmly on the surface of the spool, that the winding process on the new spool sleeve 3 can start. After a sufficient supply of thread has formed, the thread is now placed in the usual manner in the motion changer and the formation of the actual bobbin begins.
The connection of the reserve of thread which is not formed is made in the usual manner with the beginning; of the next reel, and it is obvious that now all the material on the reel can move forward without any remainder.
