Fig. 1 den Einsatz in Ansicht,
Fig. 3 den Schnitt nach A-B der Fig. 2.

 EMI1.2
Coke melted together in an electric arc and the Hiebel entatehende product, the so-called carbide, subjected to the action of atmospheric nitrogen in asotier ovens. The previously used inserts for the Azotierofon consist of a metal cylinder closed at the bottom, the jacket of which is perforated. Inside, the inserts are lined with corrugated cardboard so that the powdered carbide cannot fall out through the openings.

The purpose of the invention is to eliminate the paper insert of the seats for azotizing ovens, which reduce the passage cross-section for the air in an unreasonable manner and, moreover, are inherently impractical and uneconomical. The aim is achieved in that the jacket of the cylinder is no longer perforated round, but instead contains mouth-shaped openings without any loss of material.

The subject of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in the drawing. It shows :
Fig. 1 the insert in view,
2 shows a piece of the insert wall on a larger scale and
3 shows the section along A-B of FIG. 2.

The insert consists in a known manner of a metal cylinder a, which is closed at the bottom by a base. The cylinder has mouth-shaped openings b,
