Abstract

Un dispositivo de estimulación eléctrica intravaginal para tratar el dolor pélvico en una paciente femenina comprende un conjunto de componentes intravaginales y un controlador externo. Los componentes intravaginales incluyen un armazón, al menos un par de electrodos paracervicales incorporados en la parte proximal del armazón, una cápsula intravaginal, un enchufe de electrodos que se conecta a una toma en el extremo proximal de la cápsula, y cables de conexión que acoplan eléctricamente el enchufe de electrodos a los electrodos paracervicales. Los componentes intravaginales están diseñados para introducirse en la vagina de la paciente de forma que los electrodos paracervicales estén en contacto directo con el epitelio vaginal en los fornices vaginales laterales.
