Abstract

Reivindicación 1: Un método para inhibir el crecimiento de un hongo sobre una planta angiosperma viva, caracterizado porque comprende poner la planta angiosperma viva en contacto con una cantidad eficaz de una composición que comprende un ácido carboxílico de la fórmula (1) o una sal del mismo, en donde R es H, Ph sustituido o no sustituido, Ar sustituido o no sustituido o un C₁₋₆₀ alquilo sustituido o no sustituido, de cadena lineal o ramificada, acíclico o cíclico. Reivindicación 2: El método de la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque R es un C₁₋₁₀ alquilo. Reivindicación 3: El método de la reivindicación 1 o la reivindicación 2, caracterizado porque el ácido carboxílico es ácido propiónico. Reivindicación 11: Un método para inhibir el crecimiento de un hongo sobre césped, vivo, maduro, caracterizado porque comprende poner el césped en contacto con una cantidad eficaz de una composición que comprende: ácido propiónico o una sal del mismo; y agua. Reivindicación 12: El método de la reivindicación 11, caracterizado porque el ácido propiónico o una sal del mismo es propionato de calcio.
