Abstract
Un método para extraer un metal de tierras raras a partir de una mezcla de uno o más metales de tierras raras, donde dicho método comprende poner en contacto una solución ácida del metal de tierras raras con una composición que comprende un líquido iónico, para formar una fase acuosa y una fase no acuosa en la cual el metal de tierras raras ha sido extraído selectivamente; recuperar el metal de tierras raras de la fase no acuosa; y procesar el metal de tierras raras recuperado como un óxido metálico de tierras raras.
