Abstract
Un método para aumentar la resistencia a la fusión y/o baja viscosidad de cizallamiento de una resina de polietileno; el método comprende: a) proporcionar una composición de polietileno que comprende el producto de reacción de etileno y, opcionalmente, uno o mas comonómeros de a-olefina, en donde la composición de polietileno se caracteriza por las siguientes propiedades: una densidad que oscila de 0,900 g/cm³ a 0,970 g/cm³, una distribución de peso molecular (Mʷ/Mₙ) que oscila de 2,6 a 3,5 y de 0,10 a 0,27 grupos de vinilo por 1.000 átomos de carbono totales; b) proporcionar una composición masterbatch que comprende un generador de radical libre y una resina de polietileno, en donde el generador de radical libre tiene una vida media a 220ºC inferior a 200 segundos, y una energía de descomposición mayor a -250 kJ/mol, y en donde la resina de polietileno tiene una densidad que oscila de 0,900 g/cm³ a 0,970 g/cm³, un índice de fusión que oscila de 0,01 g/10 min. a 100 g/10 min.; y c) hacer reaccionar la composición de polietileno con la composición masterbatch para formar una composición de polietileno modificado.
