Abstract
Producción de solución de litio de alta pureza a partir de una fuente de litio con contenido de Na⁺, Ca²⁺ y Mg²⁺ disueltos: pasando la fuente en y fuera de un lecho de sorbente compuesto por alúmina hidratada intercalada con LiX, con preferencia, LiCl, para extraer litio de la fuente de litio en el sorbente; lavando el lecho de sorbente con LiCl acuoso diluido para remover el litio del sorbente para obtener un eluyente de litio de mayor concentración de Li⁺; sometiendo este eluyente a nanofiltración para producir un permeato de litio del que se remueven simultáneamente Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺ y otros componentes nanofiltrables, dando una solución de permeato con 25% o menos y una solución de retentato con el 75% o más de Ca²⁺ y Mg²⁺, en comparación con el eluyente de lavado; y sometiendo la solución de permeato a una ósmosis directa particular dando una solución que tiene 13000 - 25000 ppm de litio disuelto. Las etapas opcionales especificadas y nuevas características se pueden usar para incrementar las concentraciones de litio y la pureza.
