Abstract
Un proceso para remover al menos Ca²⁺ y Mg²⁺ de una salmuera con contenido de litio. El proceso comprende (i) proporcionar una alimentación de salmuera acuosa con contenido de litio que comprende impurezas disueltas de Ca²⁺ y Mg²⁺ en una relación en peso de Li⁺:Ca²⁺ de aproximadamente 4:1 a 50:1 p/p y en una relación en peso de Li⁺:Mg²⁺ de aproximadamente 4:1 a 50:1; (ii) someter dicha alimentación de salmuera a nanofiltración para producir un permeato con contenido de litio de la que se remueven los componentes de Ca²⁺ y Mg²⁺ simultáneamente; y (iii) realizar la nanofiltración de modo que se produzca una separación y se forme una solución de retentato con una cantidad total de Ca²⁺ y Mg²⁺ de al menos el 75% de la cantidad total de Ca²⁺ y Mg²⁺ en la alimentación original de salmuera acuosa con contenido de litio y formar una solución acuosa de permeato con contenido de litio, en donde el contenido total de Ca²⁺ y Mg²⁺ disuelto se reduce al 25% o menos en comparación con la alimentación original de salmuera acuosa con contenido de litio.
