Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para purificar una composición en bruto que incluye un compuesto de monoterpeno seleccionado del grupo que consiste en alcoholes de monoterpeno monocíclico, cetonas de monoterpeno monocíclico, monoterpenos epoxi bicíclicos y mezclas de dos o más de los compuestos mencionados anteriormente, tal como, preferentemente, un alcohol de monoterpeno monocíclico, en donde el proceso comprende el paso de realizar una cristalización por capas con una masa fundida de la composición en bruto, y en donde la masa fundida de la composición en bruto, que se somete a la cristalización por capas, incluye un disolvente que contiene oxígeno en una concentración de 20 ppm a 2 % en peso, en donde el disolvente que contiene oxígeno se selecciona del grupo que consiste en metanol, alcoholes C1-6, ácidos carboxílicos C1-6, cetonas C1-6, aldehídos C1-6, éteres C1-12, ésteres C1-12 y mezclas de dos o más de los disolventes mencionados anteriormente.
