Abstract
Se proporciona un método para controlar un calentador eléctrico en un sistema para fumar calentando eléctricamente, el método que comprende: proporcionar energía eléctrica al calentador en pulsos de manera que durante los períodos activos la energía se suministra al calentador y durante los períodos inactivos la energía no se suministra al calentador; cargar un capacitor en un circuito RC durante los períodos inactivos y permitir que el capacitor se descargue durante los períodos activos; y monitorear la tensión de descarga de capacitor y si la tensión de descarga del capacitor cae por debajo de un nivel de tensión umbral, entonces, detener el suministro de energía eléctrica al calentador Este método permite la detección consistente y confiable de una falla del interruptor usando componentes compactos y de baja potencia.
